we went to port macquarie for the australia day long weekend.
post is just a really nice costal town, went to the beach, did some shopping, went fishing, got sunburnt. all the normal costal holiday things.

Mombassa? If so, what a quality place!!!

Try to make time to visit Fort Jesus and the old city for strong Arabic influence. Best beaches I have ever seen. Hope you are to the south of the city, if not, the beach boys are murder.

The Mombassa ferry is an experience and a half aswell.

You'll love Kenya, nicest people in the world, FACT, ITK.

Take a hell of a lot of spending money if you're thinking of going to a lot of the big clubs!!!

When I went (02 and 03) it was between €6-8 a beer, up to €8 (:eek ) for a bottle of water and its between €30-45 just to get in depending on the club and the night!!

You can get discounted enrty from some flyers or by blagging but it's very difficult to get any significant discount. €10 is the best you can hope for really. June's a bit cheaper than July or August I think so it might not be quite as bad as I've said. And they may have reduced the prices a bit since I last went because I think the clubbing scene in general isn't as popular as it used to be.

The small clubs and bars in the West End in San Antonio are far cheaper,they all have free entry and you can blag some ridiculously cheap deals if you go to the right bars! :D

If you want to experience the big clubs and see the biggest DJ's it comes at a price unfortunately :no:

As a guide, in 02 over 14 nights I spent £1,600, and in 03 again 14 nights spent £1,200 odd :eek ! How many people you going with?

They did one in Eden, filled the dancefloor up with so much foam it went over your head, then they turned these giant showers on to wash it all away! absolutely mental night! Turned into one big wet t-shirt contest aswell :D hehe

i think we might stay in our hotel and get lick-up ( as they say...) on bottles till about 11 or something then hit the town. we`re gonna try hit all the big clubs so id imagine we`d go to a big club 6 of the 10 nights. will definately be goin to see as many as we can out of tiesto, paul van dyk, ferry corsten, david morales and roger sanchez and judge jules if we can.

in portugal a two pint bottle of superbok was 80c! hoping we can get something similar over there and have 3/4 of those before living the appartment

Youre going to need some serious cash then! Be over a grand I reckon if you're going to go to the big clubs that often. Even if you get totally wasted before hand and don't buy much booze in the club you still need the water because it's that bloody hot, at €6 ish a throw :cry:

In 2002 we saw Van Dyk and Tiesto at Cream, 3 hour sets each was mind blowing! :D The dry ice cannon in Amnesia is something else, when it goes off the room cools to below freezing briefly and the smoke is so thick you can barely see your hands in front of your face! :eek

You have to go to Manumission just for the sheer spectacle, worlds biggest club holds 10,000 people and they give you a map as you go in, its that big honestly! It took us 1 hour to get from 1 end to the other it was that busy the 1st time we went. DJ lineup isn't that great at manumission unfortunately, unless things have changed?

The booze is pretty cheap in the shops, but not as cheap as other Mediterranean resorts. Think when we went you could get a litre bottle of San Miguel for about 80c or something though. And the spirits (as long as you don't buy branded ones like Jack Daniels or Smirnoff Vodka) are really cheap. Ibiza's generally a bit more expensive than most places whatever you do, it's the only drawback. But it really is the best place in the world to go on a proper pissup holiday and it's worth every penny! :)

We're going 30th July-6th August 7 nights. 4 of us going definitely split over 2 hotels, and possibly another 5 if they can get their bloody money sorted! You staying in San Antonio?

Not going anywhere. I live 10 minutes from the tourist areas and 15 minutes walk to the beach. Have a big group of friends arriving on September 6th for 2 weeks which I am looking forward to. Other than that, every weekend will be a holiday for me (unless I get drafted into the army in July).

Planning of going to Ayia Napa every other Saturday from June - September, hoping to build up my list of contacts over there for discounts and cheaper prices on everything :)

We just make it up as we go along, always an absolute pisser. How bad the hangover is often dictates where you go the following night :laugh:
