I'm going on my first proper long-haul flight in April to a place with 365 beaches, white sands and blue seas but basically no where for retail therapy which will be a bit weird for me.
I've always wanted to get back into readign books but have never found the right read for me, I always either get bored senseless and start another one, or just think 'F**k it' and go for a walk.
Does anyone have any reccommendations as to good reads that I could erm...read on the beach ?

Tony Cascarino's autobiography was a laugh. Quite highly thought of by many.

Ian Rankin, Val McDairmid, Kathy Reichs, John Connolly.
All good reads, and all different.

I've just started Pamela Stephenson's biography of her husband, Billy Connolly, rather imaginatively entitled, "Billy".
But since I've just opened it, I'm afraid I can't tell you if it's any good.

I mostly read fiction, crime/spy thrillers. I'd recommend any authors from the following: Frederick Forsyth, Ken Follet, James Patterson, Robert Ludlum, Colin Forbes, Wilbur Smith, Jonathan Kellerman.
I'm dreading next time I move apartments, my book collection getting is getting way to big.

For "easy reads" to get you back into the reading mood, I'd recommend:
Catch me if you Can - Thriller, autoboigraphy and full of adventure.
Grapes of Wrath - Not exactly light, but I found very easy to read. You get drawn into it. Not very cheery though. But, a fantastic book none-the-less.
Any of the Dan Brown books. Easy peasy to read. Quick as well. Predictable but good fun despite what some people say.
Anything about sports/games you really love. Like I read Big Deal - Anthony Holden - About a bloke who turns poker pro. If you like poker like me, you'll love the adventures of this bloke. I'm sure you'd find similar things with footy books. I hear Gazza's is excellent.
I love travel as well, so I love travel books. The Bill Bryson books are all hilarious. I'd recommend "Notes from a Small Island" first. It's his (he is American) diary of travelling around Britain. Very funny.
Where you off to? :D

Try the following in this order:
Turnstone
The Take
Angels Passing
Deadlight
Cut to Black
Blood and Honey
All are part of Graham Hurley's Inspector Farraday series of books which are all set in the Portsmouth area.

Thanks for the recommendations. Going to see if they have them on eBay, i'll probably only read them once and then re-sell them!

Life of Pi by Yann Martel
Great read, outstanding prose, very entertaining and incredibly moving.

EDIT. Or you could just go with Keano's bio.
