The little thing would have just barely been beginning to understand what was going on anyway, and then to be faced with that... what a horrible thing to happen. :(

Hommage to Paignton Zoo and taking that train around gibbon island to taunt the fuggers as a mark of resPeKt me thinks.....

In seriousness Paignton along with many other zoo's around the world are and will continue to perform advances in trying to understand the animals that co habit this planet with us.....To some this may seem a mere animal and it's offspring has died and say so bloody what.....To the staff and in particular the volounteers that help out at the place it must be a real gut wrench....

Yeah, that poor zookeeper. No wonder they had to physically stop him going on in. They'd have had to pull something special out of the bag to hold me back, too, if I were in that position.

I like giraffes though. And if you were a zookeeper, that would be something very special to you, so I can understand his reaction.

If it takes this for you to notice that animals sadly die, then you are single minded.

Indeed. At least he died for his beliefs. The belief of being a smug sod.
