What an excellent film! Quite simply the best film for years, although the story of it i realised how fantastic it was last week when i finished reading it, but the film dramatised it excellently! Recommended for anyone who has read or hasnt read the books!

I must admit I'm dying to see it. I've never read Lord of the Rings, I think I had it out of the library a few times when I was a kid but was put off by the sheer size of the book. Quite odd really when I used to read perhaps 3 books in one day!

Get them separately, The Lord of the Rings is 6 books divided into 3 volumes called The Fellowship of the Ring (this film), The Two Towers, and The Return of the King. Its not so dificult that way - even Paul managed to read the first one, and he's readaphobic :)

I might break my 3-year cinema boycott for these films.

Oh P.S. If you're wanting to read the book then see the film, make sure you get into The Two Towers before you see it, in case you find out something you'd rather not have known before you've seen the film, right Paul??

;)

Casual: I definitely would recommend you see this film!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally i'd recommend not to read the Two Towers. After reading the Fellowship so close to the film, i noticed every tiny little detail they changed or moved about. One special moment above all was in Two Towers, but im glad they moved it forward because it added a lot more emotion to the film.

The bit where saun bean took 3 arrows before he finally died was a bit much and i can see it being made into a spoof where someone gets hundreds of arrows in them like a pincushion and still keep going!
