What do you do if you have an argument with your mate, apologise, but things just get worse and worse? I had an argument with my best mate about 3 weeks ago, (A day after we went to the Phonics gig together). It was a pretty big argument and I was out of order. I tried to apologise and I thought he had forgiven me. But recently he has been 'hanging round' other people, and seems to be getting himself new friends. I found out today that he is now planning to go on holiday to Tenerife with these 'so-called' new friends even though at the Phonics gig we were talking about where we wanted to go in the summer. I feel like I have ruined our whole friendship and that we are drifting apart when we shouldn't be. What do I do?:(

It seems obvious to me. Though I have the luxury of seeing the situation as an outsider, not involved. But if you can say all the things you've said above to an internet website, why can't you say them to your best friend ?
You need to sit him down and lay it all on the line. Find ut what's going on and where you stand.
If his feelings are hurt and he needs time to forgive you, let him have it. If he's a true friend he'll be back, otherwise move on with your life.
Hope this doesn't spoil your Xmas. Good luck.

I can only second what Blues said John.
Try talking to your friend - Just say everything you have to us. It sounds like he's a good friend and you're very fond of him, tell him that too. Let him know you value his friendship.
If he still continues to blow you out - do the same to him. Ignore him and hang round with some new friends of yer own. If he's worth having as a pal he'll soon come running back to yer.

There is always sunshine after the rain
Give your mate time, then have a good chat
if best mates for a while then things will work out.
unless it is over a lass, then that is more difficult

i have to endorse what blueusa and seagull have said ...a true mate will always forgive and forget ...afterall we all make mistakes that we regret ..he'll come back when he's ready to talk about what happened and when he does the both of you should talk truthfully and things will get back to normal ..don't worry barnet and most of all don't let it ruin your crimbo ...good luck mate and don't worry a true mate will always come back!!:):):)keep smiling:):):)

You will never be friends with someone forever.
Its just part of life, christmas is supposed to be about family anyway, or some crap.
Which makes it screwed when you have such a ****ed up family as i have.

Christmas can be a happy time, but it can also be a sad time for many, thinkin about loved ones who have passed away even if they died several years ago.
My mum who died four years ago made christmas what is was for us now i sit home on me own wondering what is would be like if she was still here.

Sorry if I have offended anyone. My problems are insignificant compared with others mentioned on this page. Hope you all still have a great Christmas.
