He said, "Take these things away! My Father's house shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it a 'den of thieves.'"
During my Easter break I went to our grand capital city of England, London.
I went to see Arsenal new stadium, had a look at Stamford Bridge...I was enjoying myself travelling around with my underground 1 day travel ticket. It was still early so I said to myself "Where have I not been in London?" and I thought St Paul's Cathedral! - So after getting crushed by American students on the underground I arrived at St Paul's, and I was rather looking forward to seeing this building inside and outside which was built by Christopher Wren after the great fire of London in 1666. I arrived at the entrance that had impressive hardwood doors about 5 metres high....with a huge sign stating that in order to visit or spend time in prayer you must spend £9.00 EACH! to gain admittance, who came up with this preposterous idea of charging nearly £10 to gain entry into a place of worship. If C of E wish to encourage people to visit their places of worship then charging £9.00 is totally unacceptable it should be free for all and God is for everyone and not for those who pay £9.00 for the privilege - St Paul's is given a huge budget, maintained by tax payers and with lottery funds.
I didn't pay £9.00, but I did fancy throwing a few tables.
