View Full Version : Holes in T-Shirts....

A T-shirt I bought the other week has just come out of the washing machine (2nd time its been washed) and it has loads of little holes in it. It looks almost as though its been on a big sharp hairbrush or something because they're all in a regular pattern.
On one of the arms there are 4 holes making up a perfect square about an inch squared.
Its unlikely its the washing machine because we've never had that problem before.
Im 99% sure they werent there when i wore it out last night.
Does anyone know how this might have happened? Is it maybe a common occurance in certain types of material? Has it been washed incorrectly?
Im really curious as to whats happened to it :hmmm

What else was in the wash? It may have been sabotaged by something else in it.

I dont know - just think it was a load of t-shirts. Its really weird.
Is it possible that they were always there but not visible to the eye and as its been washed they have become more noticable?

Phew......if you'd had said Indesit I would've been somewhat worried.....so what textile is said shirt in comparison to others put within the same wash cycle?....Judging from the info with regards the model of the machine I'm guessing it has a spin speed of 900rpm maximum and was bought recently...

don't buy clothes from River Island, because they tear very easily

hello m8 i worked for hotpoint for eight years, thank christ i left.its normally because you have put the item on the wrong wash and the final spin is to fast for the fabric of the t-shirt.causing little holes at the bottom of the shirt.hope this helps you a bit:thumb

Well new evidence has now come to light.
My gf reckons the holes were there this morning, which was before it was washed though I personally didn't notice this... (She thought they were part of the design....)
Im pretty sure they weren't there when I went out last night which would rule out the washing machine (unless they were there and I didnt notice).
I cant begin to imagine how they got there...:dunce:

Two of my bras had a fight in the wash, and the new one totalled the old one beyond repair. I suppose it must have been some sort of 'establishing territory' thing.
