I was pricing car insurance earlier and if I have my father as the main driver and me as an additional driver it is much, much cheaper than just having me as the only driver.
Is there any requirements for this? i.e He has to be the owner of the vehicle, etc?

Why not ask your insurance company, or check on their websites.

That usually means you won't earn any no claims bonus.

Yes, after further research that seems to be the case.

Direct line give no claims to the named driver. I bet there's small print about the age though.

Think it might be something like you have to stay with direct line for your no claims to count.

If you are the main driver and try to get insured as a second driver under someone else in order to get cheaper insurance it is insurance fraud.
If your insurers find out they'll probably do nothing though.
Standard practice is to wait for you to put in a claim, then tell you that your getting nothing and if you want to dispute it you'll be charged with fraud and driving without insurance.
After that you won't get a policy on a moped for under a grand.
