Just watching that old classic top gun which has been on 104589456796966895 times. And made me wonder, what is the best film i ever watched? Not sure myself but what about you. What is best film you ever watched, what impact and why did it make?
Only one answer please!

Has to be the Shawshank Redemption. I love that film. Its long, but the acting, and dialogue is amongst the best I've seen in any film.
The impact? lol... Its just a film, didn't make me want to crawl though a mile of toilet sewage pipes ;)

The best film ever would have to be the comedy horror spoof Wacko which i saw at my friends house a few years back! Having never heard anything about the film before or since it remains an enigma!

Has to be The Godfather (part1)
The way Coppola creates so much suspense and atmosphere is stunning.I studied this frame by frame for a Media A-Level, and i still love it. As you get closer into his editing, sound, angles and juxtaposition you realise its brilliance even more!

Probably too many good films and not enough truly great ones. So here's five in no particular order of merit.
Spartacus.
A Matter of Life and Death.
The Godfather.
North by Northwest.
Night of the Demon.
And just to tweak the thread a bit
Most over rated film of all time : Citizen Kane.
Worst film I've ever seen : Alien Resurrection.

I can't believe that no one has mentioned the all time classic Al Pacino film - Scarface. This has to rate as one of the best films ever, and definitely Al Pacino's best.

So many English & Scots here, and nobody names 'Trainspotting'. Such a good movie will never be made again, it has everything; humor, action, good story, society-critical (don't know this is good english), etc.
Shawshank Redemption is 2nd best movie, I think.
