...Came back from spending the week with my beloved and the kids.
Little blighters have given me 'nits' they picked up from school.

They live in a let's say 'not a so socio-economically benefited area' and the kids picked them up from school.

Should I just buzz all my hair off? I do anyway on occasion, but the little buggers are itchin'.
Any ideas how to get rid of them??

It's making me itch just reading this thread

My daughter used to get them at school and she had really long hair so it was a pain getting them all out. You can get some treatments from the chemists which doesn't smell too bad (it used to stink ) and it should kill the lice and the eggs.

Dont they have the nit nurse anymore ??
My old school was rife with them this was late 70s /80's and there wasnt alot of products on sale to tackle the problem they they spread like wildfire.

I love that old saying that people use to kids who catch them " they only go for clean hair":thumb

No, I don't think it would. Tea tree is very good though but I don't think its strong enough to kill the eggs. You should get a nit comb too as that's the only way you will remove them all from your hair. Guess what you'll be doing this afternoon?!

Why dont you try and coax them out with some close harmony singing , candlelight and the prospect of chicken in a basket.

 Hey! That works with fleas! Well, the candlelight strategically placed with a bowl of water in front of it. So they jump at the light and end up in the water.

I think you should just kick the hell out of every single one of them... the headlice, I mean, not the missus and kids! :thumb

Quickest and easiest way is just to shave your head. I've heard peroxide works well too.
Blonde or bald, the choice is yours......

Actually head lice go to clean hair, so its nothing to be ashamed of. My daughter had them a few years back and there is nothing you can do to prevent it really. The only way you could maybe prevent it is washing their hair every night and and put the nit comb through it. That all sounds very well but most kids hate the nit comb and it takes ages!
