Nearly £200, a total rip off.
Us big polluters are being made to pay more tax, but I already do that because my car burns petrol for fun. So it's quite annoying, but isn't going to put me off driving my fast car and looking cool. So there.

Ford Focus 1.6 TDCI. I Think it was £110. My mate owns a Ford Fiesta 1.2 TDCI, the tax is something like £35 for the year.

I have no idea what engine she has in it, but since she's just bought it brand new I imagine Toyota would have charged her the correct Road Fund Licence for it?

There's different prices depending on whether your car is petrol, diesel or alternative fuel class. The band prices are within these classes. There are different classes for vans.
Also if your vehicle is older than 'Y' reg you'll pay the old class rate and not the new.
