I could not attend todays game at the Coleraine showgrounds, due to work commitments. This is the first time, from memory, that i have not made this fixture in four years. A pity, but unfortunately, as i'm sure some off you shall appreciate, due to circumstances beyond our control, for various reasons, it is an impossibility to attend them all.
Great to see that the majestic Gary Hamilton (Who else) once again got on the scoresheet alongside another old favourite of mine, that old warhorse Tim McCann. I can't praise McCann high enough, i think that he has given excellent service to the Glens, and his commitment once again in the Green Red and Black, can not be brought into question. The report in tonights "Ireland's Saturday Night" decribes the McCann performance as "impressive", and i for one, after watching this lad week in and week out, will have no doubts about that.
Colin Nixon and Kyle Neill scored the other 2, as the Glens romped to a 4-1 victory, away from home.
I honestly thought that we would win this today, however, in a couple of weeks time we face a confident and in-form Newry City side.(They've won five league matches in a row) I think that they will throw down the gauntlet, and shall offer us us our biggest challenge so far this season in the league, certainly in terms of quality opposition.
I think that this will be a close encounter, but we are more than capable of beating them. I look forward to this match with eager anticipation.....
C'mon yea Glens....:lsabre:
