Im just in the process of sending in my application for college next year. I going to take Accounting, Business, Maths, Geography at A-Level.

Had the entry requirements through today and they're a joke.

I need 5 A*-C'S. Fair enough
I needs Maths B Higher for Maths, Accounting, Business. They all include number so fair enough.
I now need English grade B for Business and Accounting. I have a problem with poetry and I dought (sp) I'll pass it. WTF has poetry got to do with accounting. AND to do English Lit/Lan combined you need to get a C in English. :confused

Well you'll need to write reports based on the figures you get. Accounting is initially establishing the numbers and data, but mainly you get your marks for interpreting and discussing the data - especially at A level standard.

If you spell doubt "dought" you've got no chance kidda.

You want some good advice - Do the A levels that you can get a high grade at because what subject you do them in is irrelevant. All your doing is trying to get onto a good Uni course.

Do your degree in something practical.

Smog's right. I'm doing an accounting degree and most of this first year is catching up what everyone hasn't done before. I've done it all before so it's a bit dull for me.

If you're going to have a go at someone for their spelling, at least get your own right. :rolleyes

Most colleges put those requirements up to scare away the retards and the countless morons who apply for certain courses. Just apply and see.

Technically my spelling was fine it was my grammar that let me down.

But let's all get on the pedantic train and ride it all the way to pretentiousville anyway just to prove what c*nts we are.

although i understand different colleges have different entry requirements, i'm puzzled abit as i have a c at gcse for english and english lit, yet i had no problem getting on my accountancy a level course. granted this was 6 years ago (damm i feel old). if you go for a career in accountancy, and have a c in english, its hard to get a job, or even having your application accepted by some, but not all of the big companies, as i'm finding out atm
