I miss those sweets...
But yes I am looking forward to it as we are going out to a posh place for our meal to save us the hassle of cooking.
And obviously the parties are good too. :smokin:

Didn't mean for it to sound like I was bragging :( and to be honest i'd much rather stay at home and have mum cook for us rather than fanny around in the cars.
£50 a head ffs for the dinner. :hmmm
And my nannan is paying for 6 of us (nan, grandad, me, mum, brother, aunty)

It really feels like it is coming quick this year. I cant wait, much drinking to be done. A few of my mates are coming back from Oz and other places so it will be great to see them. Also love the family get togethers, the food, drinking, pressies, and the overall atmosphere around the town etc. 4 weeks from tomorrow and I guarantee those 4 weeks will fly by

Eating out for Christmas will never compare to having a homemade Christmas meal...
You will criticise everything! Whether it be the Yorkshire pudding isn't made the way your mum does it at home, or the way the gravy tastes completely different to what you are used to at home!
I'm just trying to warn you Kelly. Be prepared for the worst! Don't expect miracles!!!!
However, I hope it all goes well :D

Oh god no, ye cant eat out for Christmas. Christmas day is the 1 day of the year when I actually eat myself to sleep. We wake up and have a small fry (usually just includes rashers and sausages). We then settle for a while and open some presents. Then we have a starter (usually soup with turkey bits in it). Then a gigantic plate full of dinner that could feed Africa (Turkey, Ham, Sausage meat, collyflower and white sauce, brocolli, Spuds, mash, and other stuff too, usually too much for the plate). Then I have trifle with loads of custard. Then I top that by having a good few cans of Heineken and more pressies and we have some mates over for a few games of Xbox or play Trivial Pursuit. Oh I cant wait. Oh and Christmas Eve is spent in the pub as is Stephen's Day (Boxing Day to you lot in Britain) is spent in the pub watching the football and then out that night

It's Christmas Eve. It's-it's the one night of the year when we all act a little nicer, we-we-we smile a little easier, we-w-w-we-we-we cheer a little more. For a couple of hours out of the whole year we are the people that we always hoped we would be.

Argh man all this talk of food is making me hungry.
And I really don't want to go out for Xmas dinner!
Usually on Xmas Eve we get a big joint of pork and have hot roast pork sandwiches for tea and supper, save the reminants (sp?) for the Xmas dinner.
Wake up in the morning, mum and brother have scrambled eggs and some other stuff whereas we have some good Bucks Fizz.
Mum gets everything prepared : turkey, all the different kinds of potatoes and veg with the traditional gravy, Hendersons and a little mint sauce. Also there's the reminants of the pork from the night before.
Whatever is left we just eat at our leisure for the supper. And we always without fail get the turkey crown...more meat on it!!!

I used to spend Christmas Day alone. Aw. But this year the offers came in and now I hope it snows over Xmas up in the Lakes.
But when I get home, a day later and I have to travel down to Newport and thats when the noise kicks in, 3 grand-daughters ages 7, 2 and 9 months old, but they are prety well behaved, it's my son and his partner who are extemely loud.
All in all, yeah looking forward to Xmas but will be glad when it's all over.

I'm not so keen on Christmas, but i do like th parties and get togethers, seein friends that you haven't seen for a while, having a few drinks and a laugh, then it's boxing day, when it's fancy dress round town, such a laugh seeing everybody freeze to death or boil alive because of stupid costumes.
Actually, is it just Wigan that does fancy dress on Boxing day:hmmm, because i've been to a few different places, and i've not seen any other town do it. Manchester doesn't, went there last year, and everywher was closed by 10pm

Yeah, it happens every year, and we even got to the football dressed up, but whenever i talk to people from out of town, they haven't got a clue about it.
To be honest, it makes me a little bit prouder of wigan to hear that nowhere else does it:Banana:

A few years ago I'd be pissing my pants at the thought. Now I couldn't really care TBH.
It's true though, the older you get it the less fun it becomes and I never thought I'd believe that.

Can't remember the last enjoyable Christmas I had. My ex's family celebrated it in a wierd way, all this going to family and having to sit through hours of boredom.
Come to think of it I think the last Christmas I had with my family was probably 1997. Always been at other peoples family. Not through choice.

Can't wait for christmas. 2 more weeks at uni then 5 weeks off and as I haven't got a job, it's five weeks of football, drinking, family celebrations and football manager. I suppose I'll have to revise for my exams though aswell.
Got my advent calendar today - Milkybar.

Really looking forward to it this year - 13 days off work, enough beer to sink a battle ship and 3 consecutive matches to go to.
Gonna do nothing but eat, drink, sleep and watch football.

Im not a fan of Christmas. Its such a fake time in my mind. I buy presents for people I don't see all year and be nice to people I don't particularly like, just because its Christmas!
When my children were younger it was fun, but not anymore http://th206.photobucket.com/albums/bb31/mildredmalfoy/SJB/Christmas/Smilies/th_Sad.gif
