Just had them follow me behind for a few miles while I was out driving home from the cinema.
I was a nervous wreck! Hated every second of that.

i would say can't stand the police as i've had bad experiences in the past with them but to be honest its not thier fault, they have so much political pressure put on them, its not suprising they are looking for any small thing than facing the paperwork of something actually useful.

What is there to be nervous about?
As long as your not breaking the law the ***** can't do anything apart from stop and test you for alcohol etc.

I agree with this.
I don't particularly like the police.

By getting nervous infront of police, even if you're not doing anything wrong, prooves that you're not a confident driver.
Confidence is the key, and after only three weeks of driving it's bound to be nerve-wracking.

I got stopped by them the other week when I was lost... It was 1am so they thought I was drunk...I hadn't touched a drop and was just ferrying my drunken friends home after an awesome night out.
But yup can understand the nervousness when you're a young driver. I was the same when I first passed.

I don't get why everyone hates the police. If they weren't around I'd dread to think what would happen.

Never liked the police.
My old man said to me when I was small that I could be anything I wanted, just dont be a policeman.

Amazing isn't it? You get the ****s spending time following the likes of yourself, but be unfortunate to need them for anything like you've just been mugged, they don't wanna know.

That's the problem Martin, when you DO need them, they're never around, they're too busy playing follow the driver.

Did you get breathalysed?
I have been driving 4 years now and haven't been stopped yet but I would be mortified if I was even if I'd done nothing wrong!

Nope didn't get breathalysed.
The lady came over and asked me if I was lost or maybe i'd had a drink, so I replied that I was confused by the recent major works in the city (shitloads of new roads etc) and she told me an alternate route to go but she didn't breathalyse me atall.
I was a bit annoyed at that because any old pissed-up person could simply say they were lost and perhaps get away with it.
Would sooner she tested me, just to make sure.

You appear to have been lucky. In my time I have seen the 2 non-white members of a group of us taken off a train, searched and missing the train (as did I, viddying it in fear of a Rodney) police lash out at random fans after their own cock up released both sets of fans simultaneously. I have been SUS'ed when they were looking for an asian youth, I am not. Been arrested twice to be released with no charge in the morning after a lovely night in cells. Knocked to the ground during a routine SUS, displacing my kneecap and bruising my rib.... These are the ones that I was 100% about, no doubt in my mind, that I can think of right now. Many others told second hand, or there is some dispute of the facts due to my intoxication etc. I do try to treat each copper as a person, not blanket them all as F'in pigs, it makes interaction easier and a pointless night in the cells less likely
