What a bloody topsy- turvy season. One match we appear utterly incompetent, and the added demise is that other results do not favour us. The next, 'other' results do , and we seemingly collect the three points with apparent ease. Madness at times, utter madness. Adds a whole new dimension to the well worn out phrase 'Crazy season'.

We (My daughter and I) where not present at Strangmore Park last night, this would have been proved to have been impossible, even under normal circumstances, as it was 'Month end' in my place of employment, and in a case such as this we always have to work a little later as what is normally required.

Great to see us back in the hunt after last weeks debacle. As I was obviously not at the game the best I can offer is what I have read in todays local papers. I'll quote from today's Belfast Telegraph, written by Kevin Hughes Jnr,(Page 47, Sport section) who must have his say as he was:

"Rampant Glentoran closed the gap on leaders Linfield to just two points with an impressive win away to Dungannon Swifts, with Alan McDonald's men also still having a potentially crucial game in hand over the Blues".

Mr Hughes then goes on to describe the two goals that we scored on the night:

" Inside two minutes they had bagged the opener, Gary Hamilton running onto a pass from Colin Nixon on the edge of the box and making a superb turn before unleashing a shot past the motionless keeper".

The second came in the 75th minute, as Mr Hughes continues:

" But, fifteen minutes from the end, the inevitable second goal came for the Glens--Hamilton's corner headed home neatly by Halliday".

By both accounts that I have read today in both the Telegraph and the Newsletter, we appeared to have played reasonably well, and this is to be welcomed. How come every game that I can't seem to get to this season that this appears to be the case. Maybe we're a scud on our wee team.

Well, hopefully we can can turn this into a brace of wins, as our next visitors to the the Oval is that great Satan themselves, the (in)famous Linfield.

Another three points is a MUST on the night fellas, C'mon we owe this lot one!! Le Jeu Avant Tout!!

Couldn't make it myself but heard great reports. "Persil" even got man of the match. :eeek

Our inconsistancy would have well cost us in previous seasons but as all other teams are equally as inconsistant the destination of the gibbo is still in our hands. Come on the wee team get into "them" on Wednesday night.

And Red1 we will be taking our trophy as well. Hopefully a good game on saturday with the usual result :salute:
