Yes, indeed gentlemen, I think that he could prove to be a fantastic signing for us. Like most folk on here I had read the rumours that he was signing for us both in local papers and websites such as these but I decided not to comment until such times as his signature was practically cemented onto an actual contract. This is now the case, and what a fabulous signing we have managed to obtain.

I remember him more in his Newcastle days, running and at times terrorising defences under the reign of Kevin Keegan, I remember a couple of utterly outstanding games he had on the wing against the Arsenal and Manchester Utd that I had watched at the time live on Sky TV.

Some folk are already starting to talk of Keith's age at 34 asking the question: "Do you not suspect that he is past it after all he can't even get on as first team regular at Bradford City"?
But I dismiss this theory. I remember one of Roy Coyle's signings when he first came to the Oval a one Michael O'Neill and talk of O'Neill being 'all washed up' and 'he's finished'.
Was he hell! He was an absolute revelation at the Oval, sensational is an understatement. He was the magician and maestro who led and masterminded that great comeback at the Oval when the Blues led 2-0 after 10 minutes gone on the clock and could have inflicted more damage and added to that tally. But O'Neill remained cool under intense pressure, the old warhorse's brilliant football brain eventually taking us to a much merited 3-2 victory, through a series of stunning passes and I think he scored the equaliser himself that great day.

Mr Gillespie is far from finished and both my daughter and I shall be in the masses of Glentoran fans when he is paraded before the Oval faithful this coming tuesday night when we take on the great Satan.
Good luck Keith we know that you will do Glentoran football club proud and welcome on board lad.

Yeah, I know or at least I think I know if McDonald plays his ace right.

We'll have a good game at Solitude next Saturday Red1, and always a very good talking point especially if Gillespie is poised to make his debut.

I'll be online to make or open a couple of new threads firstly against the Blues (One game at a time and all that etc) and then against Cliftonville.

We should see a good game game next week and as I am always invited into your social club (Yes, the wee lassie shall be there as well) by Matt or 'Red Flag' as he nowadays goes under on the Reds forums or another couple of Reds fans called Terry and Joe who also live on the Cliftonville road and work alongside me, I always am made to feel welcome within your club.

Ack, sure we'll talk about this nearer the time. In the meantime we've got to deal--and sort out--Linfield, and that in itself remains quite a formidable task regardless of how they done today. They'll be up for this, I have no illusions about that.

Well compared to the super standard of football that you are used to watching week in week out(Sardonic/mocking jesture), I would be the first to admit that Mr Gillespie is no Matt-Le-Tissier, however, how many home games have you lot won recently?

Hmm... Yes, I thought not. It's all gone quiet on the Western front.

Mr Gillespie shall do very well for us, but nevertheless thanks for the concern and your lovely contribution to this thread, but if I were you I'd show more concern for the (Lack off) form from your current first team, a team that 'pretends' to represent you.

Oh dear, Oh dear. What is it that they say about people in glass house's??
