We just had one this morning at Stormont and I'm only just into work. I remember the good old days when they were a regular thing and if you were fortunate enough to work in the right building you got sent home early. Bring em back I say :)

Ask ourkidto phone in with a coded warning - he has done this in the past I'm led to believe so he and accomplices can get a good feed and a few bevvies down their necks then get out without payin the bill. ;)

This theory is as yet, unproven.

We had a bomb scare in work once. It was really busy too, and all the customers had to leave.
When we let them in again, all hell was let loose cos they were all fighting over which place in the queue they'd been.

As opposed to running off and not paying their bill? ;)

customers r thick - we had a fire drill one time and the announcer over the speaker said "we r about to test r fire alarms, please dont leave the store, we r just testing, tank u" so when they tested it, everyone left  - not that i was complaining - i hate the public now (or is it just ASDA who get dip shits 24/7)

Scares are all very well, but what about the real thing?

It fairly scares the keek out of ya when you hear a blast and u are only a matter of a few hundred yards away! Happened to me twice that has :fart:

there's been two major bombing near me-the Warrington bombing and a bit more recently the bombing of Manchester Arndale. everyone round here knows someone who was in either of those two places when the bombs went off.

How does this coded message thing work then??...as it seems to most attacks in Ireland or the Mainland a warning is normally given thus keeping most damage to material things...Obviously sometimes things don't go to plan but that is not where I'm going on this thread...

It seems that European terror groups are far more civilised than some of our Arab counterparts who prefer to strap ten kilos of TNT to themselves then catch the bus to work...

Well what i believe is each paramilitary group uses and changes their codewords, which are given to news agencies and police, and they are usually followed with a bomb ere or there etc!
Apparently years ago, the code used to be in the form of telephone tones, typed before the location of the bomb was revealed.
I would also imagine the validity of codes would be run past bodies like the PUP, UDP (wotever the **** it is now) and Sinn Fein or that paper 'republican news'
