Great White just reminded me of this with his Ashes to Ashes post.

I was on the tube the other day...when this busker (quite smart...like) got on with his guitar...and started playing Ashes to Ashes by David Bowie. His A string was a bit out of tune...but other than that he played and sung it well....didn't really pester anyone although he did have a go at some of the older people for trying to pretend he didn't exist. Anyway...I gave him a quid cos I like that song and thought it was done well.

Would you give money to a busker?

There used to be this guy in exeter played an upright piano in the precinct, he was really good, played all like ragtime stuff, always gave him money.
Also this other old guy, looked like a tramp, and played an accordion, outside Marks and Spencers, Baz, you'll remember him, he was awful, still is too, heard him singing once, evil. never gave him nothing cos he was sooooo bad!
