As someone that has for many years working with the TV/Video sales industry I shall give you some sort of help line advice...

1...Unplug the TV from the mains socket
2...Unplug the aerial from the back of the TV
3...Take the TV in both arms and sit on the bed
4...Delicately turn yourself into a lying position on the bed keeping the TV near the stomach area..
5...With your head on the pillow, begin to lift the TV with screen side facing downwards until it is a full arms length above your face..
6...If there is still no picture..scream ARGGGGGGGGGGG again and let go of the TV..

7...You will probably wake up in time to get to Curry's to buy a new TV in the January sales

Then again maybe check all the connections are fine and you won't make such a prat of yourself next time...;)
