Serious though, where do birds (feathered variety) go when they die?

They'd have to be dead to make them watch a Weed match if Palace weren't the opposition <grin>

Where do birds go? I guess they're all nice and decide to die while they fly over the north sea, rather than when they fly over a group of people.

They must go somewhere because given the large amount of birds in this country you rarely see a dead one. Do they know they are going to die and so fly off to a bird's graveyard?
And I bet no one here has ever actually seen a bird die of natural causes ie saw the bird plummet earthwards, fall off a branch etc

If they're in a weakened state then they go and hide somewhere and hope to recover. Then they die in some hidden place, out of sight from the rest of us. That's why you don't often see birds dropping dead in mid air and raining down on people below.

If we're talking pheasants here, they normally go under the front wheels of my car.
Or if you mean sparrows or starlings they just tend to go through the radiator grille.
Funniest road kill I ever saw though, was when I was driving along behind an artic, and a vole ran out right under it's wheels. The wheel must've only just caught it, cos it went pop, and all it's innards exploded!!!!

I had a budgie once. One day it started spinning round and round on its perch and fell over and died. :(

Years ago, driving home through the back roads of Sussex I ploughed into at least half a dozen racing pigeons. A bloke had released them from a hamper in a field in front of me and I found out later that they will automatically fly in the opposite direction until they adjust to the light. Made a right mess of the front of my old Vauxhall Ventura I can tell you.
