been unemployed or out of work? I quit my job at the end of last October, have had a good few months rest but am now looking for work.
It's amazing how poorly paid jobs are and how difficult it is to actually find decent work.
Anyone else got any experience to share on this subject?

Had my first job for about two years, then was probably unemployed for a year doing nothing, then work for a while, did a bit of college, now working again.

I went a year and a half without a 'real' job--worked maybe 8 hours tops at the Gap and had a temporary job during the Olympics, but nothing permanent!

Probably about three months. Quite enjoyed it too - it's amazing what daytime television can teach you these days.

21 months during the 1980s....in those days when you were out of work you bloody knew it. But I got myself on a government computer course, touched for a job four months or so later and through sheer graft and determination I've never looked back, Thank God.

I worked collecting glasses when I was 16 for a few months before giving up. I'm not looking for a job at the minute though, Much prefer to concentrate on my studies...Most likely start looking in the summer to start saving for university when I go in 04.

Left school 20 years ago and have only been out of work for 2 weeks during that time. Worked for the same company for the last 17 years.

Spent from Oct 95 till Oct 97...on a like major language course unpaid aswell as I had no tax contributions in the French DSS system and UK would only pay a benefit for two months after my departure...apart from that since starting work at 17 been an employment figure for about two months in total....

First big spell when i finished college i was out from end of August to January, got offered 2 jobs on the same ****ing day! (took the wrong one, an engineering firm in Belfast, instead of Microsoft in Dublin).
Then once the engineerin firm went down the tube, i was out for 6 months again, then when it looked like I was gonna lose my car, i got my current job! Its still temporary, tho their converting it to a permanent post via publicly advertising it and i gotta re-apply, so i could be out of a buggering job again end of march :(
