Anyone else seen this???

took mrs slimref to see it earlier on in the week and it was that gruesome that she dashed to the loo in the opening scene to be

But what did everyone else think of it?? Bit long 3 and a bit hours long and sometimes long winded

How on earth they managed to get away with it being so racist best not allow JAN4ENG or TA#6 to go  ;)

is it a true story??

Saw it last week. I don't normally like films like that but I really enjoyed it. Daniel Day Lewis was superb as Bill the Butcher.
As for it being a true story, no it isn't but many of the characters did exist,as did many most of the gangs depicted in the film.

went seein it 2nite, didn't have much idea about it except di caprio was in it.

i've gotta say it was pretty good, some really good acting, mick's right "Bill" was played very well.

a bit long winded at times i think they strung out scenes where maybe they didn't need to be.

VERY bloody, the bit where they shot the mob and were running through bloody was pretty intense.

anyway i'd say more but Ricketts has signed for 'boro n i gotta do a news report!

I quite njoyed the movie actually. More than I thought I would. Daniel Day Lewis was outstanding as Bill. He made the whole movie. I mean that lank greasy hair, bushy moustache and those checkered trousers? You couldn't make up a character like that. He killed me.

My only beef was the ending. Kind of a damp squib. I would also have changed the storyline to make there more of a conflict between the two characters AND changed the title and called it something completely different. Whilst I'm about it, the cast as well...
