I passed Level 1 in January and moved onto Level 2 after a new training creadit from job centre.

Monday i found out no money has been put into my account from Jobseekers, the girl in the bank said there was money put into it the other monday.

After i got back to college from me lunch i got a form after telling people there i havent recieved money this week, i ddn't really know at first about what was gonna happen and what the form was for.

But guess what I have never had a national insurence card so i rang today to see if money has been put in they wouldn't help me cos i don't know my national insurence number.

My mum does few calls.

Guess what i find out?........ my jobseekers allowence has been stopped since 16 feb because they were not informed i was staying on for 1 more year.

I recieve £74.60 but i'm crapping myself if i end up getting £40 when i take the form down on monday to them.

so who should get the blame:

Me?

Job Centre?

College?

DHSS?

Yours. What age are you now? Like 18 or something?

You should receive your NI card (with your number on it!) around your 16th birthday - if you didn't receive it you should have asked the reason why a long time ago.

Also - I can't see how you ever got Jobseekers or any sort of payment from the SSA up to this point WITHOUT it!

they gave me me sisters card.

And u didn't think there was anything odd, strange or generally not-quite-right about that?

You can't work without your NI number, cos as long as you're working you're paying NI! Doh

Unless you're a student I think.

Depends how old you are. If you are under 18 you will NOT recieve Jobseekers Allowance unless you meet certain eligibility criteria. If Mummy is phoning up for you I assume you are NOT over 18, in which case go to your local Connexions (careers)centre and you MAY be eligible for Young Persons Bridging Allowance. Payable until you get on a GUARANTEED training scheme but subject to a maximim number of weeks. Your local Jobcentre or Connexions Office will tell you how many weeks YPBA is payable for.

If you are over 18, and you have made a claim for Jobseekers Allowance you have to prove your identity. If you cannot the claim WILL be disallowed. SIMPLE AS. Everyone when they reach 16 is allocated a National Insurance Number. If you have lost it or do not know what it is contact your local Social Security Office and they will arrange for an interview in which YOU WILL HAVE TO prove your identity. Your NI number is the single MOST IMPORTANT piece of personal information you will ever get in your life. Forget it or lose it and you will have the most horrendous hassle imaginable if and when you need to access State Benefits. At the end of the day if you can't be ARSED to memorise the MOST IMPORTANT number you'll ever be given, FRANKLY, why should the taxpayer support you. MUPPET!.

STARVE, STARVE, STARVE, STARVE.

What Escafeld said!

If you got your sister's card... did it ever occur to you to ask her if she got yours maybe?

Oh and while I'm at it - I wasn't aware that there was any sort of 'fight' going on, either here or anywhere else. You asked a question and I answered it...

Why exactly should the TEA in Newtownards, or anywhere else for that matter, know that you didn't have your NI number, and why should they bother sorting it out for you?

I simply can't believe that you didn't think it important enough to sort out why you got your sister's card and not your own. When you got set up for this level business you're doing, were you not asked for your NI number? If so, and you gave them your sister's number instead of your own, you're going to have serious problems.

At the end of the day, as Escafeld said - contact your SSA and explain the situation asap and get them to issue you with a card with YOUR name and NI number on it - I also suggest that you MEMORISE the number, and possibly even keep a copy of it in a safe place in case of emergencies.

It's not funny really....actually it is??...christ mines tatooed in a braincell in the distant past....Though if I ever end up in a DSS or Jobcentre if I ever come back....that will be the first number to come off me tongue....

Just a thought but could I claim a UK pension when I hit 65 although living in France part of the European community?? and having made NI contributions to the UK system for twelve years???....:) ;)

A bird pic time.....

Eh?

The card has your name on it, yet its your sister's card?????

What sort of a family have you got if your name is the exact same as your sister's????
(It should have your middle name(s) on it too...)

I think it is your fault. I work in the public service, and people are always doing stupid things to their own detriment (then they blame it on some poor customer support officer, when it is their own fault for being an igorant twit). I'm not saying that you are one of those fools, but there are a lot of people like that around, and they ****ing piss me off!:angryfire

perth seriously the job centre should have informed the Bangor DHSS building (N.Ireland) after giving me a new training creadit!

I thought they actually did.:(

But now it's sorted.:cool2:

The women made fun of me and was rather rude to me in me local DHSS office.

I have a slight learning disability which doesent mean i'm fick.;)
