They just can't be beaten in my view. No mater if you make your own, get oven ready, eat them as part of a meal in a restaurant or however else!
Is there anything that comes close to a chippy?

The real downer is not being able to catch up on the news that they used to come in....bloody euro hygiene regulations.....

As an essential part of the average Northerner's diet, it's only to be expected. ;)
Chippy chips are great, but it depends on where you go and what time I think. Sometimes they can be just cooked and nice, or other times, sat there for days festering.

It results in them having square arses.

The article in yesterdays Express would appeal to them then. They have apparently developed square peas in a square pod.
I say again, yesterdays Express!!

Chip shop chips are the dogs, but the best chips I ever had were in a an Indian in Birmingham - Tikka chips. Spicy little red buggers. Mmmmmmmmm:clap:

Chips are the greatest thing to happen to a root vegetable
since Jo Guest grabbed hold on a parsnip and a carrot for a spot of D.P.

Best chips to buy, are on the coast along with a nice bit of cod covered in salt n'vineger.
Up in Whitley Bay, they do cod the size of a whale!!!
Also chip shop chips are really good covered in thick curry sauce or 'ramoulade' which is a Danish form of sauce cross between mayonaise and ketchup.

you have jellied eels with Pie 'n Mash, not chips.
I prefer mayo on mine......chips that is, not jellied eels.

No better cure for the munchies than a hefty portion of cheese and chips, with salt, vinegar and ketchup. Oh, and the cheese must be melted too. Gotta have melted cheese, people!

I thought cheese n'chips was a Scottish thing, like Mars Bar fritters.
In GeordieLand you can buy this saveloy dip for ya sausages!!! - well nice, but lay off the pease pudding Sunday lunchtime sandwiches in the pubs!
