What offering from the US stands out as the best and worst of these types of shows??

Lots to choose from of course though the young uns may not have heard of some.

Kojak
Hawaii 5 o
Harry O
Petrocelli
Cannon
Starsky and Hutch
The Rockford Files
TJ Hooker, complete with Heather Locklear
Hart to Hart

These were all on the go when I was a lad......... and I'm sure I have forgotten a lot more. Feel free to refresh the memory!

You missed out

CHIPS
Cagney & Lacey
Hill Street Blues
Magnum - does that count?

As for the ones you mention

Starsky and Hutch - never got into it
Rockford Files - my dad loved that, it was ok
TJ Hooker - used to love that

Never watched or never heard of the others

Can't remember what happened in TJ Hooker apart from me discovering Heather Locklear.

I have to mention Quincy and Ironside.

But my fave is most definitely Magnum PI

Bloody great  And by golly what a moustache Tom Selleck has. I think only Selleck And Burt Reynolds do tashes justice.

The music from CHIPS has to be the best 80's theme music along with Airwolf - which is a recommended ringtone for your mobile.

Ironside was quality, I hated knightrider.

Heather Locklear . . . . . hmmmmm . . .

I`m surprised nobody has mentioned Miami Vice with Don Johnson looking moody whilst driving around Miami at night to a Phil Collins soundtrack ... whilst making the diminutive bald blokes music extremely popular (and himself even wealthier)...

Personally I miss Car 54, Where are you! with that dozy bloke and Herman from the Munsters...

What about Petrocelli? Did he ever finish building his house?
Course for me it was Steve McGarrett in Hawaii 50..........Book 'em Danno!!!!!!!!!, oh and VEGAS, anyone else remember that?

The music for The Rockford Files has to be the best.

I was off work last week. Channel hopping, and on came Starsky and Hutch on channel 5. I got well into it again, enjoying every moment of it.

Worst of the lot has to be Dempsy and Makepeace. Anyone remember that one?

Afraid so. It was pure keek I agree. But was it not a UK show??? Not a patch on the Professionals!!!

Yeh it was cack but Glynis Barber was a decent bit of totty mind enough to make any teenager watch the show who in honesty gave a toss about the plot...

Dragnet and Miami Vice (first Season only).

Not Murder She Wrote.

Ever.

Please.

Marlin

It is until they get the broomsticks out.

Actually, I'd forgotten the Football match in that film. One of the funniest cartoon sketches ever.

I want to see it now.

And Kampso at least I be looking at the ladies...we all know you have a secret lusting for Dick Van Dyke...;)

Marlin

He just saw the word Dyke, and got a little excited. He didn't realise...

I think Robin Hood was more of a big chase after the Archery Competition. Could be wrong though.

You should own them all. Apology accepted.

Troof, anymore filth and I'll report you to...

Someone. Haven't decided who yet.

You have to admit Marlin, a 46-year-old man talking about Disney films does look a little bit dodgy.

Marlin
4th April 2003, 19:29
Hmmm. No worse than Cottee, who's about 90 and playing chase the schoolgirl in an online game.
