Mine's also a beige colour, though interestingly enough the CD Writer is a slightly different shade of beige, as I fitted it 12 months after I bought the P.C.

The monitor is yet another shade of beige . . .

Mine's a HP Pavilion 492.uk, exactly like yours, except my video card is a NVIDIA GeForce 4 MX420, 64 MB, and only a 60 GB hard drive.

Then for extras I have an Epson Stylus photo 750 printer, CanoScan LiDE 20 scanner, and a Philips 150S TFT monitor.

Pah! Everything else is fine, but 128MB ATI Radeon 9800 Pro is the BEST videocard you can get. You won't need to upgrade your videocard for a looong time if you get the one I mentioned. ;)

i have a 128mb NVIDA Geforce 4 TI 4800 graphics card. Best video card i have ever had. Who needs a Radeon?

Seriously though, I've seen the performances of both the 128MB nVidia GeForce 4 and the 128MB ATI Radeon 9800 Pro. The latter was far more superior.

ive now decided that my pc is gash, thus i will be performing an upgrade in the future, but what mobos are good these days? Just before i stopped track of that sorta stuff, the asus nforce2 board was just released. Im looking into the epox nforce2 board atm, seems to be a better motherboard from what ive read.

And **** pentium 4, i aint moneybags ;)

dont touch a p4 mate, too much for well, faster mpeg encoding (albeit very useful, but gaming always comes first1).
Why dont ya go for a wee shuttle like me? Its some limits aye, 1 HDD, 1 CD, 1 3.5 device, but well, usb2, firewire, ethernet all onboard (and video if you snap the right model), also comes with the nforce2-Ultra400 chipset! It has 2 PCI slots, mine are currently occupied by a wireless card and a geforce, but its big enough for a ti4800se which is BIG! these days u can grab external DVD writers, external HDD drives etc!

upuntill last week i had a pentium 200, 32 mb ram with windows 95 (later a bootlegged copy of win 98 1st edition), and now i have a 2.2ghz AMD, 256 ram (i think) and win 98 se (ill get xp when i get paid) with one of those dvd, cd-rw combo things (48x24x48x16), for £340. quite good i thought
