I use it, but have broadband, and can't think of anything better when I need to find something quick
Try mIRC, it has a big learning curve, but lots of good stuff there, plus the connections are more direct.

Kazaa with dialup does take ages, but surely it's better than buying CDs ;)

I have Broad Band, it can still take a while, but at least you can d/l all 15 or so tracks of an album at once . . .
I had a look at mIRC, is it a subscription service ?

mIRC is an IRC client. It's not recommended unless you know what you're doing, can get very technical, not to mention security problems with some idiots on IRC...

Think I'll stick with Kazaa Lite then . . . ;)

Just to warn you lot, I used to have Kazaa but deleted it when I realised if they catch you downloading anything off there you will be fined HEAVILY. So just htought I'd tell you just incase you get fined.

They are only fining people in the US. Nothing to worry about. Use Kazaa Lite and they can't trace your IP anyway.

There are no laws in the UK that can be used to prosecute Kazaa users Alex, and since there are usually at least 4 million users online, it would be phenominally expensive to sue Kazaa users in the USA.
This is just a scare tactic, there will perhaps be a few prosecutions, but only to discourage people from using P2P.

I use kazaa-lite often. It does take ages on a normal connection, and it's not brilliant on ISDN either, but it's better than buying cd's.

I have kazaa lite. When searching for your file, search a couple of times, to get the numbers of users up. Then, when you start downloading, search one or two more times. With more users, it is likely that one of them will have good upload speeds.
Yes, people have faced court action from using kazaa, but that is only in USA. In UK they have said that they will only take action against people in extreme/desperate circumstances.

about 30secs long and they're all the same.
Each track said it had completed so what have i done wrong?

You've downloaded the spurious tracks put on Kazaa by the record company mate !
You don't have any of the tracks, so delete them all, sorry.
If you look at the search results before you select which tracks to d/l, you can sometimes see files that are suspiciously large, or exactly the same size as other tracks, but even then you often find a couple of them are 'plants'.

for music soulseek is the best p2p going...

ad free, spyware free and has all kinds of shit that you can't find on kazaa... a lot of trhe time it is down and you need to download updates frequently... it is still the bestest though...
