I Heard on the radio this morning that a hitherto unknown and unshown episode of Only Fools & Horses has been unearthed by the programme's appreciation society. Entitled "Licence To Drill", it's about the hapless trio discovering oil in Peckham and was actually made as a corporate video for the USA's oil industry.
The chairman of the appreciation society says he heard about the episode from the writer, John Sullivan, and says he was also told by the late Buster Merryfield of a number of unscreened episodes of the show gathering dust on a shelf somewhere. This particular episode was apparently unearthed in a video library of a college somewhere in England. "Licence To Drill" gets its first ever UK screening tonight at the appreciation society's quarterly get-together, but unfortunately there are no plans as yet to show it on TV. But here's hoping!!
