On my way home from the game yesterday I got a call from the rents asking me to hurry up as they'd bought a new telly and couldn't get the cable box to work on it.

I got home, realised it was a SCART job simply plugged that in in pressed the AV button and was hailed a savior. This afternoon I've been asked to fit the cable box, the VD player and the VCR to the telly using 2 scart leads and a 2 into 1 SCART box adapter. What a pain in the arse it is endlessly feeding wires through the back of cabinets, and the worse thing is I've discovered I can only get the VCR to play through the normal connector and not record the AV channel so I need yet another SCART cable to do that (to plug it into the cable box I think, tell me if I'm wrong)

I'm mainly annoyed as I've missed the first half hour of the game! :angryfire

Can't you tune your video into Sky on another channel? Sky on my video is set to channel 6 as I had the same problem as you.
I have 2 scarts from the digibox, one to the tv and one to the VCR, then the normal cable from the VCR to the TV.
The DVD has it's own scart cable direct to the TV.

This is my plan, but I only have two scart leads not three, and one of them is pretty crap as it doesn't lock in properly so I'll have to selotape that one in. Tomorrow I will go buy another SCART lead for to connect the Digibox and the VCR and it should be fine. Good job I don't have to plug the PS into it.

Yeah, my old tv only had one scart socket, so i had to unplug the VCR and plug the DVD in each time which was a pain and even when I got a scart 2-1 adaptor the Sky still interfered with the picture on the DVD.

Couldn't you have got the SKY to go through the DVD?

Tried it all everywhich way and that was the only way it worked, anyway it's not too bad now with a separate scart going to the TV plus we don't normally have the Sky on if we're watching a DVD.

But if I'd done that then I'd've missed Chelsea beat Man Utd this afternoon!!!!

Not that show football no. For that I'd have to drive the 8 miles into Exeter, watch a game or two then drive the 8 miles back. none of the pubs in town will let kids in so my kids would be home alone.
This way we can all watch the football together, I can have a drink, and I don't have to pay for petrol or parking.
Plus if I can't sleep, I can watch SSN for a couple of hours til I do fall asleep.
