My advice would probably be not to talk to strangers and not to walk alone at night in towns and cities. Another fine piece of advice is to shop around before you buy.

On the guitar front, good on you for going for it. It's one of those things that's on my "perhaps, one day..." list of things to do that will never get done. I'm told guitar is one of the easiest instruments, although it's all relative really...

Go for it!!!!!
there are things to rember though.
1. it will take while before u are good and don't sound like u are molesting a cat. trust me i've been there. RSPCA know me by first name.

2. get an alright guitar. ie one of the big name's budget versions. fernder's 'squire' range, gibsons 'epiphone' are both pretty good. the highest you should pay is £200

3. learn from someone and teach yourself. i learned from my friends and just taught myself as well.
Also learning how to read TAB is sooooo easy and means u can get better faster. no need to have any musical talent to play a song, just look at the numbers.

4. find sheet music/tab on bands u listen to and have album of. For me it was greenday and blink 182. easy chords , easy music.

lastly keep at it. it may seem like your fingers and hands can't make a certain chord or movement but it takes time for them to get used to it. your finger tips may hurt as well but they will get used to it too. oh and also HAVE A GOOD TIME!
you won't play good if u arent happy :)
