Thanks to "da" aka Dan who kindly stayed up with me until gone 2:30am last night... or this morning, which ever way you look at it, to solve my pop up problem.
With many folk crying "reformat - reformat" he stayed there cool as a cucumber and removed my dreaded porno pop up problem file by file.
Not being around much for the last two years i've been suprised how much FF has evolved. I see occasionally theres been a "old skool / new school" rivalry in the odd thread.
Being an old skooler i'd just like to say you newies are alright by me and if theres more of you like da then that certainly can only be a good thing.
Thanks to all FF'ers who helped me out with my problem especially da.
Thanks lads.

Double toast? i.e. toast them on both sides? They aren't very nice if they are too crispy in my opinion.
Nice with "best" butter (as my grandma would say) but also with golden syrup (a thin spread, mind), honey, sometimes chocolate spread (but I've gone off that).
I'm not too keen on them with jam though
I find Marks and Spencers ones the most scrumptious - get them cheap as well because my aunty works there!
So, do you have any tips?
Infidel

interesting. i don't really like butter on them, but you have some good suggestions. I will check out the golden Syrup aspect tomorrow and report back with a mini review. is that ok

That would be most delightful, thank you.
Ever tried them with anything else that I didn't mention?
Or perhaps used them as croutons for your soup?

We could also make our own pancakes when I come over - look!!
Pikelets Recipe
Pikelets or Scottish Pancakes are a small and sweet pancake best served warm with melted butter or cold with jam and whipped cream.
200 grams / 7 oz of flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 egg
A pinch of salt
4 tablespoons of white sugar
210 ml / 7 fluid oz of milk
30 grams / 1½ oz of butter
In a medium sized bowl whisk together the egg, milk, sugar and salt. In a large bowl sift the flour and baking powder. Melt the butter. Pour the egg mixture and butter into the flour and stir quickly until the dry ingredients are moist and smooth with no lumps. Taking care not to over mix the batter. Heat a greased griddle or frying pan, and drop dessertspoons of mixture from the tip of the spoon onto the pan. Cook over a medium heat - too little heat gives heavy and pale pikelets, too much heat is likely to burn. Turn the pikelets as soon as bubbles appear. The pikelets should be golden on both sides.

bad news - i didn;t get a whisk
Jo

I'll bring a whisk!
If we don't have one, I'll buy one - lucky Brighouse has got a Wilkinsons opening soon so I should be able to pick up a cheap one there!
Can't think of any other advantages of the new store though
