Anyone here go bowling much?
Me and Gavin go bowling every weekend.
I have beat him the last 5 weekends running.
Every week just before we go he always says he is going to win me this week.
He never does.

Went on thursday evening - got 150 something :D Though that was with the rails up as I was playing with some women:laugh:
Don't normally go as it can get expensive - £11 for 2 games at peak time! Thank heavens for student discounts. It's a good laugh though - and the bowling alleys are usually in good places like with plenty of bars, amusements, restaurants and cinemas about so makes for a good evening.

Last time I went bowling was a few weeks ago. I was fairly shit, though I did get a couple of strikes and have played about 3 times in 7 years.
Also I wonder if gav-ens GF remembers the excellent phonecalls of 2003 ;)

It does indeed. That means you two must have been together a while now as well!

I'm appauling at bowling. I always tell people I'm bad but noone appreciates it until they actually see me play. Last time I went was 10am the other saturday (we hadn't been home from a night out, left a party at 8:20am, bought matching fleeces hats and trainers from asda and went bowling then straight to work - don't ask) so needless to say I was pretty shit that day. time before I was bowling with a lad, with the bumpers up and he was bowling with his right hand (he's left handed) and I still lost. I suck :(

I'm not normally too bad, but the last time I played was just embarrassing. There was an outing of special needs children in the lane next to us, and while I was throwing the ball into the gutter, these kids (some physically handicapped, some mentally) were scoring strikes all over the shop :(
Helen - I'm willing to bet my mum is worse than you. I once saw her score knock over a skittle in the lane next to us... just the one mind... and she had the bumpers up as well!

oh that's nothing I've never done. I've also managed to throw a ball out of my lane, but not make it to the next lane and just kind of get stuck in the middle. then the staff had the audacity to shout at me when I went to get it back for them!
trust me - without the bumpers up I either sulk like a little girl and refuse to play, or score about 2.

Have you considered using the "reject ramps"?

 I've seen those. Mainly used by 3 year olds with the assistance of their parents?

They don't work either
My mum refuses to partake in any sporting venture and thus, if we ever go, she sits there complaining it's too cold/smokey/loud/boring (you get the picture) - anything rather than bowl.
I bet she's be good though, letting out all her anger!
I however am quite inconsistent - sometimes I'm bloody ace, sometimes I'm a bit sh!t.
