Anyone doing/done it? Been banned for it? Had a Prang whilst under the influence?
Would anyone even admit to doing it?

I need my licence for work, so I don't drink and drive, ever.
I probably have many years ago when I was a kid though.

I did once, but only because I was drunk.
As stupid as that may sound, it's true - young, stupid and drunk... the very thought you are a mere mortal simply leaves your head. Fortunately I didn't have or cause an accident and wasn't caught, despite being tailed by a cop for about 2 miles on the motorway at 3 in the morning... the whole incident shook me so badly I have never done it since, and don't intend to either. Drinking? Car keys stay at home, every time. Driving? I'll have a coke thanks.

I would never drive after i've just had a drink BUT there has been a few times when i've driven to uni/work in the morning after a night out and still fealt under the influence.

I used to do it a lot. Drunk out of my brains. Very stupid. Not something I am proud of. Endangering mine and, more importantly, other people's lives. It wasn't in Britain. It was in a country where it was very common, not that it makes it any more acceptable.
It took a mate (22 years old) driving his car into a tree and being killed to stop me.
Utter stupidity. There can never be any excuse to drink and drive.

I know someone who's done it and was banned for two years with community service. Stupid, luckily no one was hurt but it could of been a lot worse.
Have drove early the next day when probably still way over the influence but would never drink and drive but i suppose the consequences could be just as bad the morning after.
The thought if you killed someone from a stupid mistake couldn't even bare to think about. That advert where the kid is playing football in his garden and the drink driver's car loses control and rolls over the garden killing the kid where he walks free from the car and the father has got the dead kid in his arms gives me shivers.

That's what really scares me - I don't know if / how I'd be able to live with myself.

Especially if it was a young kid. I couldn't imagine if i was a parent if a drink driver killed my son or daughter or the fact you've ruined their entire chance at life and ruined everyone elses. :(
It is really not worth it.

Its a difficult one.
I went out with a few mates at about 7pm.....drank about 5 pints from 7pm till about 3am then walked to my mates house 3am till 4am. Had something to eat there stayed around chatting then left at about 5am. Me, I felt perfectly fine to drive 10 minutes down the road. I was perfectly sober......would I have been over the limit??

The stupid thing in my opinion is limit, so many units...
Why not just say 0 units....seen as its a couple of units people may have 1 pint, or a few shandy's but if they havent eaten all day, had any sleep their reactions will suffer.
If you are driving you shouldnt drink at all in my opinion.

A couple of times I've been wrecked the night before I have driven to work but it's only down the road and always with a 12 hour gap between drinking and driving but I have felt a bit drunk.
Was once considering driving home from the pub but Matthew told me not to and I wouldn't have done it anyway, it was just very cold at the time.
I'm so paranoid about it that I only ever have a shandy before I drive and that's only if I have an hour between drinking and driving.
Amazing how many people drink and drive though, half of the people who come in my pub get shitfaced then drive home, it's staggering

When I used to live in Compton Martin, a village near Bristol...everyone would get shitfaced and drive home.
I must have been over the limit a few times when I travelled 4 miles to another pub but it doesn't bear thinking about now, utter stupidity.
Wouldn't touch a drop out in a town anymore.
Last time I got stopped was in my previous car when the rear light was out, the police officer was very kind, especially so after there was no booze on my breath. I could tell he was trying to get a whiff of any alcohol. Even one beer and I'd have been breathalised there and then even though I would have passed it.
Cheers!

I was in Scotland at one time, and i had drunk half a bottle of vodka and ended up going for a drive. But i wasn't really bombing about being an idiot, i did 25 mph in the car at all times, and tried not to be a danger, once i got back to where i was staying i regretted it, because i thought of the consequences and realised what possibly i could of done and what could of happened. It's not worth it, and never going to happen again.
