The mobile network.

Anybody on it?

What's the coverage like? Despite the extremely low price plans I've always bee put off because of the network coverage (and those weird arse adverts!) but they're pretty established now so I was thinking maybe things have changed.

Chazza, don't do this.

Say NO.

I've had a lot of sh*t from this company of late and if i can stop one more person getting screwed over by them it'd be some minor retribution for me.

Seriously, they're ****ing c*nts. Bad signals, unreliability, the works.

Go Orange or Vodafone

F*cking hell. After 3 ( ) replies, I think I'll be giving em a miss then.

Need 200+ any time, any network minutes. Couldn't give a toss what the phone looked like to be honest. Any suggestions?

I bought a pay as you go phone from them, I had to get a minimum of £15 at a time and if you didnt use your air time by the end of the month it would just take it off your phone.

I´m on 3 its great, it´s cheap and they use 02 masts so get coverage any where...

Robin_L

I'd question the 'cheap' part, cheapest monthly tariff I am aware of is £25. They also spread the load really badly - either too many texts with not enough minutes or vice versa.

I know 3 use O2 masts, but they've had a lot of complaitns which can't all be coincidence. I often struggle to get any signal in Cheltenham which is hardly the middle of nowhere.

My sister has a phone on the 3 network and the coverage she gets is pretty good, much better than my Orange !

The customer service on the other hand . . .

3 piggyback o2 networks yes but o2 customers ger priority so if there's loads of people using their o2 phones near you, then there's not much chance of you getting through.
My son had the loan of a 3 phone for 2 months, he gave it back after that as he never hardly had a signal.

I'm on 3 and it certainly has improved since I signed up last December, much better reception now and I only very rarely have a problem with the network.

500 mins and 100 texts a month for 15 quid.

The phones are crap though. (saying that, I haven't looked out for any new ones lately)

Was on Orange for 4 years contract and only moved to 3 last June.
Can't say it's been that bad...though if you want to get support help you get put through to some backward Indian or budbud call centre where their command of English wasn't the best...very frustrating.

Last call I made to them querying a bill I had to ask to speak to someone else after saying several times "SPEAK ENGLISH"....I know the call is free but it was taking the piss.

500 mins was the best thing about 3. For £25 a month, i weren't complaining.

I’ve been on Orange for the past 6 months and every time I make a call to them I get someone with a Geordie accent. I haven’t spoken to one with an Indian accent/can’t speak proper English, yet.

If you don't mind having to send your 4th, 8th and 12th month bill back in, then Carphone Warehouse have a contract that works out as £3.99 a month on Virgin.

Don't know anything about it's coverage though ?

You can change the colour. ;)

3 are total ******s.
Yesterday a woman with a wee baby in a pushchair comes knocking on the door with a clipboard, she informs us that 3 are trying to put a Phone mast right smack bang on our doorstep right in the middle of a residential neighbourhood. She is walking around the cold and mist to collect signitures for a petition against it. This area is full of little children like hers and she dosent want a big grey column transmitting radiation where children play and grow up and neither does anyone else. Today it transpires is the last day to voice objections, the number of people who knew about this in the immediate vicinity you can count on one hand. Way to go informing people you ****ing twats. How about you put planning permission notices up like everyone else has to.

This has happened across Sheffield under the same circumstances about 4 times in the past year. They keep it quiet as they can until its too late, yet if someone wants to build a conservatory at the back of their house they have to tape clear notices to every lampost around informing people of what is taking place. This isnt even on private land, this is at the side of a bus stop surrounded by houses on a main road. No attempt has been made to shift it further away from where people live. ****ing twats, in the other places there were mass protests to stop these shitheads, I hope it happens here too.

******s the lot of them at that stinking company, I hope they go bust.

The customer service on the other hand . . .

In the pub before the Chelsea game the subject of three came up. I was with a few people who were mates' of a mate, strange kind of situation.

The following was said:

Me: 3's customer services are really shit.
Some girl: I work for 3's Customer Services.

Worst customer service ever! ****ing bullshit indian phone line. It took me 6 months to get them to cancel my account even though carphone warehouse had that 14 day return and I did that in time. I had to manually get a cancellation number and after trying the customer service 7 times and getting through to india then being cut off, after a 'bad line' I had to get someone from the cpw to ring someone in Scotland to sort it.

Disturbingly similar thing happened to me. It's always a 'bad line' in India, that is after they have transferred you between several differnet 'departments'. *********s.
