Do you swear a lot? Does it depend on who you are with and where you are on the amount of expletives that come outta your mouth? Or are you very much like BarmyArmy5 and just talk shit all the time? What about your parents? Do you feel it appropriate and acceptable to swear in front of them, or other family members?

I ask as I've been reading through some of my posts and half of em are filled with f*ck, c*nt and whatever else, for no real reason. In every day life, I swear a fair bit. I try and tone it down when amongst women but generally, I'm always effing and blinding. Uneducated and uncalled for many would say and yeah, it's not great, but it's the way I talk. Does that make me stupid with things to say that are not worth listening to? In some peoples opinion, I guess it would.

Also, on FF, do you type and post in much the same way that you would speak to your friends? Or do you try and produce your posts in a more formal and eloquent manner? That's perhaps a silly question as we have the whole text speak generation but still...

I think i swear more than i realise and i guess i post the way i speak, i generally dont stop for a breather as i am quite chatty once i start talking it's quite hard to shut me up and i just carrying on just a little bit too much. :)

I must admit i hate swearing but feel it's sometimes the only thing to get the point acrosswhen i am annoyed.

I don't swear all that much, which is surprising as my parents used to "f and blind" all the time. Except when I drive, in which case every third word is a swear word ;)

I swear a lot, in everyday life, when I talk, text, post on here, all of it really. I've been around swearing since I was a kid; I'm not using it as an excuse, and I know it's bad, but my parents have swore in front of me since I was little. Also, I swore whenever I was out with my mates as I was growing up and it's just an integral part of my language nowadays.

I don't really agree entirely with the opinion 'You only swear because you don't know other words to put the gaps', i.e. you substitute swearing for words in sentences, because I have become a bit of a wordsmith and like to think I am articulate and have a varied vocabulary. But I can maybe understand why people wouldn't maybe like to hear it, so when I am in a family pub or a restaurant having food, or in work, or around certain family members I tone it down.

Is there certain words you just don't say, or say in front of certain people? The 'c' word (f*ck knows why I'm typing it like that seeing as I use it all over the board) is sommit I am very careful of who I use around. To close friends, you'll hear it every other minute but anyone else, never.

Swearing unfortunately has got me in some right trouble over the years; when i was seeing my ex, her parents didn't approve at all, and apparently the reason was because I swore too much (pretty lame IMO, but I sort of understood). So I had to make an effort to keep it down whenever we were with them, and it actually felt quite good not swearing, for some reason. But now it's back to normal.

I swear a lot of the time, but it's easy to turn it off at work when there are women within earshot, and obviously when speaking to customers.

Narr i just swear alot at work because its accepted as the way it is.I dont really tone down with my male friends but i tone down when with female friends , i dont know why ? I just think they wouldnt think its very polite to swear as much as i do.
Swear all the time at my brother but wouldnt ever swear at the mother and id try not to at family do's.I wouldnt say c*nt infront of me dad and wouldnt call him a ****** if we were arguing as i find c*unt a very tricky subject thats the kinda mother of all swearing i saw that to make a point kinda thing ,and id use that as the wrost insult.

I swear a lot in the company of both my friends and when at school/work(part time job)

I do swear a bit too much in front of my parents but they don't seem to mind(No young siblings about)

I do watch my language particularly when meeting someone for the first time/people whom I don't know that well are around/formal settings e.g. restaurant. I rarely use the word c*nt, but the rest are used.

I only seem to use the F word, not used the others that often. Unless i'm talking to Barmy where every cuss word has to be used.

At times , its been depressing taking my son to West Ham , when you have a couple of amoebas nearby , unable to think of anything else except trying to break the world swearing record. I accept the fact that it has always gone on at football but some of these guys are a waste of good air and unlike years ago , all seater stadiums mean no escape from them , short of leaving early.

I probably swear to much when I am with my mates, and I don't even think about it.

But when I am with my parents or people I don't know, I can quite easily not swear, and I don't think about that either.

It's odd how you can turn it on and off without actually putting any thought into it.

Sometimes there are situations where only swearing will do, regardless of the company :)

I dont do it very often, but have no reservations about doing so if I wish.

The only exeption is if im around very old people such as my grandmother who grew up in the day and age, where it was a huge social no-no.

As a general rule though, I think that if you are offended by somebody swearing then you might as well not leave your own house.

I'm not offended by swearing , its just that excessive swearing is normally a depressing indicator of lack of brain power.

I swear far too often whilst I'm with friends and at work due to the industry I work in. Never swear when I'm around my mums, but will if I'm out for a couple of beers with my old man.

I only swear either if I am well annoyed or really happy.
I don't swear a lot at college and I definitely don't swear at home as my mom would kill me !
Of course I swear at football matches if there is a crap referee, a horrid opposition player, the fans are being dicks (own as well as opposition) or if our strikers miss a sitter.
