I split with my ex 5 months ago so know how you feel Bluetonic.
She had cheated on me previously and I took her back and then things went bad again. The way I look at it is ok you can get lonely and miss sex being single etc, but you don't get any hassle, you're your own person and can do what you want when you want, without any hassle.
Friends are the best thing for when you split up with someone-you just need to keep yourself busy mate.

My mates tell me that, when i got finished by a girl. I loved her with all my heart, and i could never love someone in the way i loved her. After we finished, i was down in the dumps, mates told me that before a night out, first thing said, you can tell he's been finished. They cheered me up, and said well count it for her loss and she'll never find someone as good as you. Bet you. Few months down the line i still think of her, and my feelings are really messed up. You'll one day find someone truely special and in your case hopefully soon so that you forget about the hatred, the hurt and manage to get on with your life, it's a gut wrenching thing when it comes to the point where it happens, and believe me it makes you feel so down that you think you can't get over it, but you can by not thinking of her, and go on finding a girl that will be special to you, good luck and i'm sorry for your loss or shall i say her loss.
