Barcelona`s "Stadium at Sea" plans

http://www.emilividal.com/index.php?menu=actu&id=168 (Very small link for English translation in bottom left)
From what I gather Barcelona are unhappy with the planned 10,000 expansion of Camp Nou because they feel it doesn't adequately address the "capacity issue" so a 'leading' (again icarrasco?) spanish architect has supposedly drafted this and presented it to Barca and Barca are looking at it as a viable option?

Surely a 100,000 capacity is enough?

Well if the story is true then apparently not.

Thats dosen't seem to fit into a city like Barcelona. I can't see it happening TBH.
Wasn't there talk of something very similar in Dubai?

Hence why it's in the water, not in the city?

Looks very great! I think 100.000 won't be enough!

Good idea with global warming and all. Madrid will start pumping lead into the atmosphere to hurry up the process.
Looks great and if there is any club that can do it, that club seems to be Barca.

As a player, who wouldnt want to play there

Perennially Bored
If we can combine Barca and RM's wealth we probably can start teraforming Mars without any financial concerns.

I seem abit negative, but I find it silly that clubs will sell 100's of millions of dollars on players (who are already financially secure for the rest of their life), stadiums and what not, but countless people are livin in shacks and holes, and don't eat for days in Africa and poor parts of the world.

I find it silly that every year we the average joe are expected to cough up money to help the 3rd world, in a world where America could have cleared 3rd world debt if they had sent the money there instead of Iraq.

I didn't mean to sound like I totally oppose to it, would be fantastic to see. I have been doing alot of work at school on Africa and makes me feel bad about what awful conditions they live in. This isn't the right thread for it so continue the discussion on the stadium.

I've looked this up...
Apparently, it's not the capacity that's the issue..
They planned to put in 10,000 extra seats in the Nou Camp - but that would cost €250m!
They want at least 50% of the seating to be under cover. Here lies the problem.
I presume that they're just hesitant at paying €250m for only 10000 extra seats. Who wouldn't be?
If they were to sell the nou camp, and build this...for a cost of not much more, it has to be considered.
It's unlikely though I'd say.
