Stephen Taylor
He's a great defender from what i've seen of him so far, and he's only 19. He can play in midfield sometimes but I don't think Sounness would reccommend it. He can pelt long balls up the pitch to players who are good in the air like Ameobi and Kluivert. Anybody think anything about this player with a bright future?

just where do you get your info. from mate taylor has never played in midfield for newcastle/england youth he has only really played at right back this season with relative success is a natural centre half but has only played there for bits 'n' pieces of games.
he is not a long ball footballer from what i have seen he likes to run at people with the ball and play passes to feet (Bramble is the man for long balls) i can only see a promising career ahead of him (as do large numbers of people including liverpool who are sniffing around)and will hopefully become a true legend on tyneside

I have never watched him play, but wasn't he the one that cost you the game against Arsenal at Highbury? The one that let Bergkamp score because he was on the wrong side of him.

might have been yeah but how can expect a 19 year old to completely keep a player of bergkamp out of a game for 90 minutes he had that one chance and took it did dennis, no blame on steven from me

I wasn't placing the blame on him, i was just making sure i had the right guy, which it seems i have. Because it could of been another player i could be thinking about and not Taylor.

I thought that was O'Brien? Anyway, Taylor was playing a right back then and didn't have his best 45 minutes for us. Looks a great prospect tho.

The bottom line is that Steven Taylor didn't cost us the game in my view.
I too feel he is a great prospect. And we're due a few really. |
