Football Hall of fame
I've just seen that BBC Radio 5 live are asking for people to tell them who should be included in a football hall of Fame.
Apparently on Wednesday night nine footballing legends will be inducted into a special European Hall of Fame. The nine footballing legends that are going to be inducted are George Best Sir Bobby Charlton Kenny Dalglish Kevin Keegan Sir Matt Busby Brian Clough Bob Paisley Sir Alex Ferguson Sir Bobby Robson That looks like a pretty good list to me. Who else would you induct into the European Hall of Fame? If you visit the 5 live breakfast blog you can tell them who you would include in the Hall of Fame and they'll read them out on air tomorrow. |

A couple of European Player Of The Year winners spring to Mind, Stanley Matthews and Dennis Law, that Bobby Moore is not on that list is scandalous ffs, a shocking oversight ![]() |

Even as a Rangers fan I think Jock Stein should be there. First Brit to win a European cup and died doing his best to get Scotland into world cup '86. Legend.
Still I suppose 4/9 being Scottish isn't bad. |

Good to see him on that list. Bill Shankly & Bobby Moore should have definatley made it as well.

You must be having a laugh, Liam Brady was an excellent player with as sweet a left foot as anyone I've seen but his two titles in Italy don't match up to Keegans successes.
All on the list are worthy of a place in the European Hall of Fame with Bobby Robson as the weakest candidate. As rafasarmy said Phil Neal is as worthy as any on the list, winning four European cups is a pretty exclusive club to be in. The list is specifically based on European performances, not sure how some of the other great names mentioned in this thread performed in European competition.

Yeah seems a great list apart from Bobby Moore missing. Theres so many they could induct but obviously they only want to select an initial few. I think Id have Moore in above all of those tho.

Billy Wright should be included in that list he was the first player in the world to win 100 caps for his country and captained England 90 times.

Like most Chelsea players, didn't really have an impact in European competition.
An excellent achievement, what did he accomplish on the European stage ?
