Van Persie will rotate, but I couldn't leave the two hot favourites for the golden boot out. Apart from them I tried not too make the squad too good on paper as the WC is pretty random. I've picked a shite player that won't get a game for each position, there's no point in having too much talent on the bench.

There is with this because you can replace someone from your starting eleven after they've played. If you have reasonable quality on the bench you can pick them to replace one of the big boys if they get sod all.

So let me get this straight: I could have Pienaar for South Africa in my team on friday, and then, come saturday morning, I could swap him for Lampard and still get points for both?

So you can say have a player involved in a match on Tuesday, then change him for someone else who is playing the following day before the start of the next round? I couldn't see where the rules were and I didn't bother looking, I think I'm gonna have to root them out!

I was under the impression it was after each team have played once.

So you can change after every game week. Gameweek 1 - everyone's first games. Gameweek 2 - Second games and so on.

Chef is correct...

Quote:
At the start of each day (00:00 South African time) during the round, a substitution window opens. In this window you can:

* Replace any player that wasn't sent off with one from your bench who is yet to play.
* Change your captain, providing he wasn’t sent off, with someone whose team is yet to play.

On a matchday, the substitution window will close 15 minutes before the first kick-off.
But this is crucial...

Quote:
An unlimited number of substitutions can be made but only eleven players with one captain can score points each round.
So it's only a good idea to replace players who have scored poorly because you lose all the points gained by any player replaced and only the 11 players you finish the round with score points.

As Ollie points out you'd only get the points for Lampard.

Exactly. That's why I said it'd be good to have some quality on the bench to replace johnny big dick when he gets injured after 3 minutes.

Because you can only score with 11 players players though I think I have enough good subs to cover the fellas who don't score. 2 good strikers, 3 good midfielders, and 2 good defenders and one half decent GK should be enough. I can't see me making more than 8 subs!

It's even more important that the subs you use are as good as they can be so I'm happy with my policy of sacrificing one player in each position so that they are.

Yeah, I only have three strikers the other two were sacrificed for better midfielders. That Welcome fella seems a popular choice for the bench warmer position.

His name was very welcoming... Nah, I think it's just cause he's bottom of the list tbh. Here's my starting line up for tommorow. Lloris, Malouda, Mphela and Salcido are all in action so I can switch them for players with matches later on in the week if they fail. Letting you know their next fixture under their names is a nice touch and a big help.

I use MWSnap and Tinypic, it takes about a minute altogether and half of that is just leaving it to upload. Very simple and easy. I imagine there are load of ways to do it.

My subs are all really cheap so I didn't include them. I also know that my team has 11 players from a minimum of 6 teams, but I figure that the world cup will have fewer surprises than in any week in the Prem so I chose to keep my team simple

Really don't have a clue what I'm doing with this one. I should stick to the premiership fantasy footy I think.
Even Chef might beat me in this one .

Anyway my team.

Buffon
Chiellini - Cashley - Sagna
Dos Santos - Xavi - Gerrard - Schweinsteiger
Van Persie - Messi - Luis Fabiano (C)

Subs:
Chalkias - Castillo
Cech - Ziegler - Nelson - Bougherra
Sneijder - Honda - I.Gonzalez - Feilhaber
Dindane - Bendtner.

Providing I don't finish bottom I'll be happy.
