The problem with the uefa champions league and cricket world cup and ice hockey at the winter Olympics and Rugby League World Cup is that there are too many teams it drastically over-expanded, and probably the ideal number of teams was 8, too many games, too many one-sided games, too many commercials, and too long a tournament. The product -- edition in and edition out --has been diluted.
