Very happy with the Afobe signing. A striker with the right attributes and a great record at this level. If we can get Dwight Gayle too then we'd have a very strong looking forward line for this level.

I'm also happy to get rid of Ramadan. Bit of a headless chicken with no pace who can dribble a bit but has absolutely no idea what to do with it if he ever gets into a decent position. Maybe there's a decent player in there who'll come out with better management than what we've had over the last few years. But I don't think it would have happened here I don't think he has the right attitude and he's one of those players who will always be associated with the relegation. I hope he does well, I hear he has a good sell on clause .

Excellent signing. Makes you favourites for the title at the moment.

    Happy with Afobe

I have mixed feelings on Sobhi. I wonder if he would have been better giving it at least a season with us and see how it goes? Maybe Rowett could have been good for him? Instead he (or his weapon of an agent) has chased the PL and swapped one relegation battle for possibly another one?

With Sobhi I've never really seen 'it' with him. He looked promising at first where he clearly had a few tricks and could beat a man. But for me he just hasn't got enough pace for a winger and looks like he's walking through treacle. And when he's on the ball he looks absolutely clueless with what to do it, his decision making is appalling even considering his age and relative lack of experience.

I accept that the management and coaching has been pretty poor during his time here and we've been a bit of a shambles generally as a club for the past two years. But I just feel it's one of those occasions where it's never going to work here. We need to look for somebody else and he needs a fresh start. The final straw is the behaviour of his agent and apparent ego of Sobhi himself who seems to think he belongs in the Premier League despite showing nothing on the pitch to back it up. We're best getting our money back and get someone in who wants to play for us and is happy in the Championship.

We've received a 25m bid for Rodriguez and Dawson from Burnley. Hopefully we'll reject 15m a piece in today's market

Spent £750k on Storey which isn't a pittance to us so i'm expecting him to be involved with the first team squad.

Exeter fans rate him very highly and a few Premier League clubs were in for him.

Expected announcement of Carvalho signing this week. 15m. Second most expensive signing in this league ever.

Goncalves on loan with view of signing at 15-20mil and Hutton on a free.

    Mental.

Yeah he looks like a very promising centre back. There's an Exeter fan on our forum who reckons he's next in line to make the step up to a higher division.

Karanka’s got a contact book as large as anyone with Mendes being his agent.

Forest going for the promotion or bust approach then.....no player should ever cost that much in this division.....one transfer that is worth around half of your annual turnover is just crazy.

    No, we're really not.

Most amount of season tickets sold in a season.

Most lucrative shirt sponsorship deal in our history.

Most lucrative kit provider deal in our history.

Pre-tax profit of 32m last season.

15m Assombalonga transfer kicks in this season.

Potential sell-on of Lascelles (8.5-9m if he's sold for the rumoured 45m).

15m for Carvalho is structured over several seasons, so it doesn't hit all in one; in reality it's most likely to be the equivalent of buying a 3m player every year for 5 years.

    We'll be just fine. :D

Pre-tax profit of £32m.... taking into account £40m of debt written-off and £14m of player sales.

More alarming is the operating loss of £22m, for one season.

Unsustainable, but you clearly have an owner willing to put in the money, and if he's clearing the debt then it shouldn't be an issue.

We may as well give the trophy to Jorge Mendes every year.
