North America wins. So a World Cup spread across a continent; three countries and several time zones. No identity and three nations automatically qualify. I hate everything about it.

Don’t be silly. It will be a Mars and Jupiter co hosting it.

Its ****ing ridiculous, three nations walking in without qualifying. Which also means two less qualifiers for the rest of the world, whats the bets its europe that does.

It'll be the first 48 team World Cup if I'm not mistaken.

32 is a perfect number. What next........in 2038 we have 54 teams or another silly number.

The absolute shit teams from North America that will get in as well

The 9th best team in that continent alone would qualify, to put that into perspective the 9th highest ranked North American team atm is Curacao...

32 is the perfect number imo, 48 dilutes it so much, we'll end up with similar kind of mismatches that we see in the rugby world cup.

I'm happy to see World Cup come to Canada to help get more people interested in Football(soccer) but the game is really growing that's for sure but what do you all think of MLS? could a MLS team survive in EPL?

I have had a bet on the 2098 tournament.

Faroe Islands to beat US Virgin Islands 3-1

Kind of sums up the divide in football really - managers and players want LESS games but the money men and big wigs want MORE.

I say just invite every single FIFA registered international team and have an FA Cup style unseeded draw. One-legged games. You lose you go home.

First round you could end up with England vs Brazil or it could be England vs American Samoa who knows?

That'll never happen imo, as clubs would kick up a fuss as that would mean the World Cup goes on for longer

The amount if games you would play wouldn't be too different actually. Say there were 200 teams in it for arguments sake. Half the planet would be going home after the first round . If you won your first 3 games you'd be in the last 25 teams (obviously the numbers don't work but you know).
