    I started this...

My daughter has been dry for nigh on 8 weeks, changed person - lots of issues to still solve but we’re getting there.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the past months is if you need help, it’s there , ASK for it, don’t ( and I realise that it’s hard with alcoholism taking over your thought process) do as my daughter did, shove your head in the sand and hope it’ll go away- you’ll end up dead - she so nearly did

Great to hear pal, here's hoping she keeps it up and remains dry, sadly just a single drop can undo everything so keep up the support mate. I've seen a friend lose his Mom to alcoholism who just couldn't stay off the stuff, even after going through near liver failure she stayed off for a few months, went back to drinking and died a couple of months later. Just keep up the support and hopefully she makes a full recovery.

I had my first drink in over 6 months at the end of December. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening/night, hated the following two days though. With me being on a diet I tend to stick to a lot of fruit and veg and also get out on the bike regularly. The two days following the booze all I wanted was junk food and to not do any exercise. I couldn't really stomach the veg, it was very bland. I got on the bike and did my usual 15miles or so and **** me did I sweat!

Back off it since then and it's put me off it more than I was previously. I went to the football at the weekend including being on a boat of spurs fans with everyone properly on it, except me! It didn't feel right but it was no issue for me, I had no intention of a drink as I'm enjoying the more active lifestyle without the booze more.

That’s fantastic to hear. Good on her and you for being so supportive.

I’ve not cut back hardly at all. On holiday at the moment but will seriously do something about it when I get back at the weekend.

I’m fed up feeling lethargic and pickled a lot of the time :(

    Has anybody tried Antabuse?

My first time in rehab was when I was 18. I'm 32 now and was in again. Round and round.

Things were going great this December but halfway through January my boyfriend smacked the shit out of me during an argument. I did say some awful things. Didn't hurt physically, mind. Addicts like myself have ****ed ourselves up with seizures and such much worse. But emotionally made me instantly reach for the bottle.

I left and stayed dry for a couple days then started taking it. Only reason I'm not drowning my sorrows as we speak.

Sorry for the rant. Just a suggestion for those who are ****ed up emotionally and can relapse easily.

    Alcohol Alert Number 86

In layman's terms, alcohol changes your DNA for the worse and makes it harder for you to give it up.

Well done for staying mostly clean. I’m a recovering cocaine addict myself. I had to quit everything for a bit including alcohol and gambling. As we all know, coke and alcohol go hand in hand. I’ve started drinking properly again without using cocaine. It’s a risk , but I’m enjoying drinking without the feeling of needing to go and score some gear to level me off. My vice is now the horse racing and that gives me the buzz I need. I’ve noticed my drinking is slightly getting heavier , so I’m having a few weeks off it just to prove to myself and the missus that I can.

Cocaine is an horrible horrible drug. It’s become the norm nowadays though.

Finally saved up your money to pay off your bet I see. Only took well over a month.

I take it you're still blaming the board for Mourinho being crap?
