Yeh but if we had even more guns in the situation then I'm pretty sure it's guaranteed the likelihood of people being shot will go down. That's how it works, isn't it?

Only if they are big, rapid fire weapons. Maybe they should just all carry grenade launchers?

Can’t believe the club didn’t arm any of their staff.

If everyone had a gun these massacres wouldn’t happen

Surely not for the responsible gun owners who keep their's in a locked safe.

Ban them all, there is zero need for them. Even one locked in a cupboard is totally unnecessary.

Indeed, for some reason its gets overlooked but in most cases all more guns does is escalate the situation further.

A load of drunk people in a bar with guns. What could go wrong?

They still think it's the Wild West over there.

If they aren't going to change the amendment, why don't they enforce consistent stricter gun laws in every state along with implementing metal detectors in public places?

Because any proposal of gun regulation, they take as a direct attack on the 2nd amendment. I used to have a non-profit anti-gun group as a client, and even passing stricter background checks was a nightmare to even get heard.

I really feel for the law abiding sensible Americans who just want to get on with their lives in peace but are prevented from doing so by the gun toting idiots.

It makes me laugh when after these events Americans who are pro guns bring up the UKs knife issues as a response. By the time one man with a knife has got up close to someone to stab, everyone else near by has gotten far away from the guy, that leaves one potential fatality. By the same time you could go into the equivalent in America, using an AR15 and have 15 potential fatalities.

Most knife crime here too seems to be localised to gangs, not people randomly killing people in temples or bars.

Knife crime in the UK is mostly confined to one particularly violent inner city and has spiralled due to consequences of badly thought out spending cuts and poor crime prevention strategy. Obviously it'll happen elsewhere sporadically but it's not like it's a nationwide epidemic.

It's a bloody good job guns are illegal here and hard to obtain. London would be a total bloodbath if you threw guns into the mix. When guns are illegal it's confined to organised crime which is criminals shooting criminals, or others who obtain permits, i.e. blood thirsty sociopaths in rural areas just shooting animals.

The US attitude to guns (more guns keeps us safe) works about as well as thinking the death penalty is any form of deterant (one look at their murder rate suggests not).

Don't be ignorant. I have a permit, as do three of my friends. We go clay pigeon shooting on the regular, like 1000s of people do.

I meant it tongue in cheek. Killing animals just for fun is a bit sociopathic though.

Or you know, perhaps it's because we keep inviting in the 3rd world where violence is more prevalent?
