Probably right, but I think it's telling that this is the third time I've been on antidepressants and every time I've started them it's been between November and February when I've not even been able to force myself out of the flat until the missus has badgered me for weeks on end to get to the docs. The two times I've come off them have been in May-June. I've not bothered getting off them this year as I know what's coming if I do, plus the withdrawals are fvcking awful.

I missed my tablets for three days the other week, and by the fourth day I was a mess . The withdrawals are terrible as you say jase. In my younger days I always made sure that I was out all weekend the first weekend after the New Year, or the first weekend after I’d started back to work. That kind of helped me come to terms with the New Year and i always enjoyed it even though it was quieter than normal. It blew the cobwebs away.

Not horoscope. So if your birthday is in January like you say. You are a cold, dark and miserable person. Not many people like you , and they usually can’t wait to see the back of you ;)

Horoscopes are made up drivel designed to give the female race something to talk about. Any man who believes in horoscopes needs his testicles removing with a blunt stanley knife

I don’t disagree, some people just think you can’t have a separate opinion on men and women and because it’s 2019 they are one and the same.

There’s too much of a big deal made about it IMO. Men have a dick, women don’t. There is the first difference right there. We are not the same.

You're a Sagittarius but born under the influence of Neptune, aren't you?
I can tell this from the barely contained homo-erotic fury you're demonstrating.

Embracing the conflict of your birth will lead you to a path of happiness.

I've been having a few 'chats' with the wife recently as I have these real lows sometimes. I hate my job and it makes me feel sick that I'm stuck in it for the next 25 years. I can't afford to retrain or suddenly change careers and the area I live in isn't exactly a hotbed of industry.

We've also been going through money problems and our pet died last week. Which to some might sound trivial but we don't have kids so he was almost like a child to us.

I am incredibly hard on myself. I don't know if this is a man thing or not but I constantly think negatively about myself.

    Why did I do that?
    What was I thinking there?
How could I have been so stupid?
    Everyone must think I'm shit.
    Nobody respects me.
    And so on...

Every thought about myself is negative. Always believe someone else is better than me. I don't like how I look, there are some traits of my inner personality (the side of me that nobody ever sees) that I bottle away and cannot stand. I was thinking yesterday that I really Mr Joe Average. I have no skill really in anything that would make me stand out.

I've never felt suicidal or anything but more just generally indifferent about life. Like if I was hit by a bus tomorrow I wouldn't be that fussed. I struggle to see what I have to really live for as the future in my eyes holds nothing but frustration and limitations. Anyway this has just turned into a rant with probably no pattern to it but i wanted to vent somewhere. Cheers

Glad to read you’re not having any dark thoughts man but a lot of what you’re feeling there is pretty common.

Men in general are hard on themselves and not many of us feel that we “excel” at anything in particular, but that applies to the vast majority and there’s nothing wrong with that.

I’m in a similar rut of not liking my job and feeling like I’m getting to the point where it’s too late to retrain, and I can’t afford it.

And the pet thing is far from trivial, anyone that’s had pets which is most people I'd say can appreciate the unbreakable bond that is formed between them.

Do you go to the gym?
