Wash your mouth out!
Modric winning the ballon d’or is an absolute joke.
No way should Modric have won the Ballon D’or
Other laughable placings... De Bruyne should’ve been higher than 9th, Kane higher than 10th, Pogba shouldn’t have finished higher than about 4 or 5 of the people he did and Salah should’ve been top 3 not 6th.
It’s a joke “award” now.
Criteria really is inconsistent. These 'journalists' are probably the same people who think Ramos is a top 'defender'.
Argentina not even voting Messi as number 1 ffs
They don't have to leave, just win something of note.
If Karius doesn't hand Real the CL and Salah doesn't get injured ruining his preparations for the World Cup he could well of won it, he was deffo in the running up until his injury. If England had gone all the way in the world cup Kane would have been up there, same with Hazard and Belgium.
Modric has less goals, less assists and less key passes than Messi. Less goals and less assists than Ronaldo. He's so instrumental in his team attacking yet when Ronaldo leaves they have capitulated. It's a popularity contest and it looks like FIFA were itching to give it to someone other than the usual two players but it's not their fault they are streets ahead of the rest of the world!!
The fact Messi hasn't just won his 10th Ballon D'or is a joke in my opinion, however for him to finish 5th just completely discredits this award.
When Salah won the best goal of 2018 then that was the time to not take these award ceremonies seriously.
Messi fans are ****ing weird.
No excuse why Xavi or Sneijder didn't win it in 2010 then.
Like I said, they change the criteria every year.
I just find this need to jump to his defence and to fight his corner on any dispute that he might not be the best very weird and precious.
I just think the award has made a mockery of itself, my apologies for sharing my opinion.
The comment wasn't aimed specifically at you, but since you decided to get precious about it, it's not the first time you have jumped to Messi's defence at a hint that he's not the best player.
Exactly, Sneijder's season was very similar to Modric but I feel Sneijder had a bigger impact for Inter and Holland compared to Modric. He played a more offensive role but was more decisive.
I'm not jumping to his defence, I'm saying the award is making a mockery of itself in my opinion.
What it should have been:
2008 - Ronaldo
2009 - Messi
2010 - Sneijder or Xavi
2011 - Messi
2012 - Messi
2013 - Ribery
2014 - Neuer
2015 - Messi
2016 - Messi
2017 - Messi
2018 - Varane
It's become a popularity contest that you have to win the CL to stand a chance and then win the PR war as the most popular player in that team.
