Great result, I hope we can continue this run were on of scoring in 2 games in a row:p

Good to have Lampard back in the midfield, he wont be doing wonders yet, but I'd give him a few more games before he starts getting back to what we expect of him.

Kalou seemed to take his goal well. That sets us up nice now for a wee break with the internationals coming up, just hope we get everyone back ijury free so we can begin to get our assault on the league back in order.

Next match: Boro away 20th October

We deserved something. Had we played like that, with that team for the season, we'd be well away from the bottom three.

Surely getting back to scoring deflected goals shouldn't take that long eh?
I sympathize with you Woody, Bolton deserved at least a point. Good performance though. :thumb

 he scores penaltys as well sometimes doesn't he? ;)

And whoever wrote that match report at the top got it slightly wrong - we've lost three out of five home games - not three out of four... If you're going to rub it in at least get your facts right ;)

I expected something out of the Chelsea game, but with Cech playing his usual solid game it was always going to be hard. But our performance tells me that we will beat teams like Middlesboro, Wigan and those who are average sides. I think we are just above average.

This will probably come back and kick me in the teeth.

Why do you deserve something, if you didn't take your chances?

i've never understood why people say that. . .

Just shows how :dunce: you Chelsea fans are. When you say you deserved something from the game they are obviously referring to the overall performance and not solely on the amount of chances they have in the game. Get it?? :slap:

I big part of your overall performance is putting the ball in the net.
if you fail to take your scoring chances then you don't still deserve a goal because your build up play was nice and pretty. That's like Chelsea going to Arsenal and losing 1-0 but chelsea having a couple 1 on 1's with the keeper, which we miss and me saying... "oh but we deserved something from the game because of those great chances".

at the end of the day, if you don't put the ball in the net. . then you don't deserve sh!t!

Ok, but managers also asses their teams commiment and determination. Maybe you are right in saying that if you don't take your chances you don't deserve anything, but Bolton created a shedload of chances, your keeper was in fine form and should at least have got a point. Managers also take the possession into account as well, and most of them feel that if they dominated the match they deserve something.

    It's a saying - get over it.

We were unlucky to lose the game, ok?

So, when the 'Special One' occasionally used to say, in the aftermath of a defeat, that the best team lost was that a saying or him just talking bollocks?

depends on the circumstances, i can understand people saying it if they had a goal ruled offside that was clearly onside... or if a team wins by 1 goal with a strike that was going wide but took a massive deflection past the keeper. But when it's just a case of them missing their chances i don't get what they think they deserve?
