Read a book called 'Hammer of the Gods', an unofficial autobiography of Led Zeppelin. I know it's totally unofficial but that doesn't mean that most if not all the stories in there weren't true. I'm a huge Led Zeppelin fan but was disturbed about what i read about the band's shenanigans.

John Bonham would always be drunk & bully just about everyone who got in his way knowing his protection would look after him. If that was anyone else, he would be ironed out every week.
Jimmy Page was sleeping with a 14 year old girl from Los Angeles for quite a while. If that was going on today, he'd be no different to Gary Glitter.

These are just a couple of tales from many which i didn't want to know.

Also read a couple of books about Gil Scott-Heron. Another "hero" of mine who was nothing more than a crack head.

Ghandi by Louis Fischer. I'm big into my history but for some reason I couldn't get into it. It was the toughest read I've ever had and it took me months to get through it.

I feel the same with each book he brings out. He has killedoff so many main characters and done silly things with the other main ones that I can't keep up with whois where, who is doing what and I am finding it especially difficult to connect with the new characters. I am only continuing reading because I have read all 6 and it would be silly not to then read the last 2

Yes, same here but it still seemed enjoyable when compared to the torture of watching those shit films.

I feel your pain. It's immensely verbose. I find myself reading the same sentence repeatedly.

I don't think I have the patience to read a book that I'm not enjoying. If I dislike something I just stop reading it.

I kind of want to read a really boring book at some point, just so I can say I've done it and then trash it. Something epic and renowned like Anna Karenina or War & Peace, I own both but apparently have no plans to read them
